Listening to Douglas Coupland's "Microserfs" while cooking and cleaning and it's been great so far. There's a certain optimism for this mid-90s tech fiction that I'm nostalgic for. A nice supplement to "Hackers".

I feel like if they corraled the rules a little bit that could have kept the contestant getting unruly and still been funny. Once the rules stop mattering episodes start to fall apart.

This season of Game Changer has some great episodes, and some duds. "Ear Wig" and "Eye Spy" become almost impossible to follow a few rounds in due to the combination of increasingly more obtuse and inconsistent rules combined with ramping theatre kid energy.

I saw the movie in the theater and it was good. The real power fantasy for me is the themes of leadership and teamwork (both wins and defeats). I'm less compelled by the violence.

Ehhh, only worked on it for two years early in dev. Important foundational work, but not very glorious, only a few things I could point to in shipped. Having already known most the story and characters I mainly got lost hunting, fishing, and playing poker.

I worked on RDR2 and GTAV and wasn't sure why both _start_ with snow sections, which make traversal an absolute dull slog. I watched a non-gamer friend spend over half an hour on the GTAV intro, I spent over an hour with RDR2 to log images for my portfolio. 🥶🥱😴

My fondest experience in WoW was during the beta or early launch days. I was burned out from school, work, and playing too much WoW. I took a week off and only fished and cooked in game. Spent time looking around the maps, looking up in the sky. It was more reward to me than any raid or loot drop.

We've taken all digitized information and averaging it out into a jpeg that produces very mild creative results. That's fine when propping up code, but falls into the uncanny valley when trying to portray anything human.
