I was about to post something very similar. I was out running earlier in the week and thinking how I can't be arsed with it or football being back. Seems a lot of people are feeling this way. Reckon it might be time to pack it in (he says, about to attend 3 games in a week)

Erm… city pointing out it was the government not the owners funding them makes a mockery of the ownership set up which (if I’m right) was done to show they are not state backed. How does pointing out they are state backed helped them? What a crock of shit. Honestly, fuck the fuck off.

And were/are brainwashed by their megalomaniac owner who thinks he's untouchable

The idea that some of the best players in the world hung around to play for MANCHESTER CITY whilst earning wages well below some of their peers at other clubs was always hilarious and ridiculous that it was never questioned.

How does the league just carry on like normal here. The other clubs should be refusing to play until they're removed, especially as it'll probably go on for another year at least. What if they win the league?!

It's completely fucked, it's not the game we fell in love with and I wish I wasn't so emotionally attached to it and could just walk away. City fans should be livid with their owners, but they seem be going out of their way to defend them

Disappointed we didn't hear from him yesterday, I'd wagered significant money on it

Maybe a bit early to discuss the process whatever the outcome may be here. But Man City investigation started in 2018. The club was charged more than 3 years ago. In that time, the team has continued unmolested, recruiting at incredible fees, winning at great frequency. The PL still can’t comment.

His stance/position on Mainoo also made me very uneasy and fucked him too.

Yep, you may recall I was same with him, although it got to point where his stubbornness was a problem and he acknowledges it himself now (as recently as last night). They have reversed all the good he did, getting rid of bad influences and getting the players well conditioned, in 9 months.

What's the process? Carrick doesn't even seem to have a process and thinks whatever he is trying to do is working given his comments and him picking the same team every game. This is my biggest concern, I don't know what he is trying to do long term other than rely on 'fine margins' going our way

Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 21/09/2026
Away from home we were especially crap under Carrick last season and these performances are just a continuation of that. Generally, we were heavily reliant on Bruno who has been very poor so far and set pieces which we've lost our threat from as Casemiro has gone.

Not a clue mate. It's incredible

I need to see it back as was at the game, but seemed a reasonable ball to Sesko who didn't move and just let the CB take it off him. I really like Sesko but he was very bad last night

The players have to take responsibility too of course, but they can't just ignore the managers instructions. The wing back thing is a system issue highlighted by the results against teams we have played who have played the same system since he took over.

Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Else was available, so we had to give him the job. Complete nonsense
010
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Yep. Back to relying on Maguire, Rashford and Shaw who we know aren't good enough/have no future at the club and with a manager who is simply not qualified to be managing MUFC. The signs were there last season that he didn't have much, especially from our away performances, but apparently no one...

Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
I don't think I have seen a more obvious coaching mismatch than that last night for a very long time. It was clear United/the system couldn't handle their system/wing backs (for 20 mins before they pulled one back) and Carrick did nothing at all to change it. Just made like for like subs

Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
As Amorim warned, you can abandon your principles for short term success/results, but in 12 months the same problems will remain. We have gone back 5 years in 3 months, it's incredible. This isn't me saying Amorim was amazing, just that what he stated was bang on and now proving it

Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
It's hilarious that the club think a reasonable plan is to just address one position each summer and expect to compete again, you're always going to be behind. Although it's questionable whether they are actually serious about that

Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 16/09/2026
The players obviously have to take a massive amount of responsibility, but having a manager who has literally no idea how to counter a team playing with wing backs is far from ideal. We've been completely outplayed by a few teams playing this now and he's not been able to do anything about it

Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
A better team, with and without him and be less reliant on him.
000
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
Which, if true, is my point and a very very concerning position to be in. I think, IMO, we have good enough options now to be a good side without him in it. We can play 3 in midfield with the options we have, or we can play Mount/Cunha/Lacey number 10. We need to be thinking about a how we become..

Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 15/09/2026
Just purely based on evidence, surely? We were fucking 3-0 up at half time against a Sunday league outfit on Thursday night, 3 days before the Manchester derby and he still wasn't taken off. It's not a healthy situation for a team, relying so heavily on one person who is 32

Seemed to be more direct tonight going for goal around the box instead of dicking about, wonder if they've told him. He's a very talented football if he takes playing football seriously instead of like it's a kick about with his mates

Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 10/09/2026
2026 and we're still resting Rashford, Maguire and Shaw cos they're so important. Not ideal
120
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 07/09/2026
Yeah exactly, there will be certain situations you shouldn't be beaten there, it's just the general notion that you should never be beaten at the near post (Neville is a bad one for this, no surprise) that is nonsense.
140
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 07/09/2026
And this is ultimately my concern, as there A LOT of similarities.
000
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 07/09/2026
Are you supposed to do?
100
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 07/09/2026
It's a bit of a nonsense that GK's should never be beaten at the near post. I have heard a few keepers who say this and know one who played at a decent level too. You have to position yourself to be able to cover both corners, but if someone strikes one very well, right into the top corner, what..

Lee Hendrie I think he said, I was at the match so didn't see it

Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
Honestly mate I've no idea and I'm not qualified to say, but he is very young for a keeper and his qualities are those you'd expect from an experienced keeper so you'd hope so
120
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
Yes, we did well in the 2nd half against Ipswich after scoring a freak goal. I hope you're right and I'm wrong. We should score plenty of goals with the players we have, I'd have liked to see more from them as a unit in creating chances in the first 3 games. Hopefully having a CF will help with that
110
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
I agree, he's just solid but not amazing. Weird as before he came all the stats and reports suggested he was an elite shot stopper
110
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
He had a chance, he did well with it but we're MUFC and there should be no sentiment. We should've thanked him and moved on. We're back to relying on Maguire and Rashford and it all just feels like deja vu
030
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
We didn't create much today, we didn't create anything at Hull and until that Ipswich lad slipped last week, we hadn't created much then either. And we've played 3 proper crap teams
100
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
It wasn't just Newcastle though. We were crap in every single away game after Arsenal until the dead rubber at Brighton, as shit as the first 2 this season and it wasn't sustainable to keep playing like that and get away with it
100
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
Aren't quick either. We'll concede too many goals and I don't think we know how to break teams down/create quality chances so it'll be a massive issue. Hope I'm wrong as I love him and he's one of my favourite ever United player
220
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
His subs seem premeditated (exactly the same 5 changes the last 2 games, for eg) and I think he'll shirk making big decisions around certain players. Martinez and Maguire together just cannot be a long term partnership, they lack the pace and athleticism needed, especially with 2 in front of them...
250
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
Didn't want us to/think we should appoint Carrick and I reckon it's just another decision that'll put us back. The signs were there last season that he lacked the qualities needed and the performances away from home after Arsenal were all very worrying, despite us picking up a couple of results..
231
Hoddy @redhod99.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
He's made the exact same subs in the last 2 games. My concern is like Ole, he'll just pick the same team and make premeditated subs, regardless of the game or opponents. Taking Dalot and Shaw off in particular seemed daft
