I'm lucking the fuck out lately. First it was a "broken" Neo Geo CD for half price just worked fine... then this "does not power on, for parts only" Atari Jaguar for £200 also just works absolutely fine. Here's hoping the "broken" CDi I have on the way also does the same....

Never owned/used one before, so I have no opinion either way. But I also have a 3DO and a Neo Geo CD, and thinking of getting a CDi, so it's not like I'm buying it cos I think its amazing or bad.

I heard Sony patented this as a protection mechanism, so that no one else could potentially come up with the same idea and actually implement it. It existing as a patent would mean potential legal battles if someone did try, making it less likely someone would actually go ahead with it.

After the success of the 50% priced Neo Geo CD fix, I took another punt on a 40% priced Atari Jaguar that "doesn't turn on, no power light, nothing". Bought a capacitor kit for it at the same time. Something to pass the time aint it ?

So, the fault I thought it had, it did. 1 capacitor replacement later (and by that I mean I replaced ONE capacitor) and it works !

Bought this - it's "broken" because the "power light just blinks". Turns out that's just a capacitor that needs replacing inside the PSU - pretty simple. Absolute bargain too ! I wonder if @topvint.co.uk has one of these :P

I'm so glad I don't have any fast food places nearby where I live. The closest I get is a couple of chip shops (cos seaside), and a chinese takeaway. I've not had a KFC/McDonalds/Burger King/PizzaHut/similar in over a year now. Feels good !
