I'm lucking the fuck out lately. First it was a "broken" Neo Geo CD for half price just worked fine... then this "does not power on, for parts only" Atari Jaguar for £200 also just works absolutely fine. Here's hoping the "broken" CDi I have on the way also does the same....

So, the fault I thought it had, it did. 1 capacitor replacement later (and by that I mean I replaced ONE capacitor) and it works !

Bought this - it's "broken" because the "power light just blinks". Turns out that's just a capacitor that needs replacing inside the PSU - pretty simple. Absolute bargain too ! I wonder if @topvint.co.uk has one of these :P

How can anyone look at an image - which is supposedly from 2001 - see this, and think it's real ? Also why would a German destroyer have a US flag on board ? People be dumb. bsky.app/profile/bigg...

Such a shame that Corridor Crew have started to use AI to generate their Youtube thumbnails... The arrow gives it away.

You can definitely do this in a web browser, and you can do the same in the Android Youtube app... both available via the "burger" menu. Not sure about iPhones though (don't have one of those !)

"Linux Desktop" people amuse me. They belittle anyone who isn't using Linux as their desktop OS, but then spend a vast amount of their time making it look like another OS entirely. Why not just use that other OS ?

This, 100 times over. I am tired of Youtube thinking I am now dedicating my life to knowing what Americans think of the UK because I watched one video one time out of curiosity. It's like Amazon thinking I need 10 more toilet seats after I've already bought one.
Youtube asking me what "problems" I've experienced lately, and me choosing the "too many videos about something I watched out of curiosity".

You're a technical person I assume, so - and here's a wild idea so stick with me here - just turn that feature off. A lot of everyday users need a built-in OS feature to block downloads that could be malware disguised as normal apps before they accidentally install them.

I bought it from ebay - the guy played on it for a few hours, boxed it up, shipped it to me, and it never worked when I plugged it in. As it is a PAL console, I believe that pin needs to be pulled low, and there's a cable like this on that chip in mine: I'll try the recap and go from there :)

Hey @retrorgb.com - question for ya if you don't mind. I am in a PAL region (UK), my CRT shows that it can accept NTSC via the AV input (SCART). If I bought a Japanese Sega Saturn, and then an RGB Scart cable for it, would it "just work" or would I need another converter ?
Specs of my CRT, boring, you're not missing out on much.

PS4 on a 10" CRT via a downscaler anyone ?
A silver Panasonic CRT television sits on a wooden shelf, displaying the title screen of the video game "Carmageddon: Max Damage." To the right, on stacked shelves, are several Sony PlayStation consoles: a slim PS3 on top of a PS4 Pro, with an original grey PlayStation 1 on the shelf below. At the very bottom left, the corner of an Xbox 360 console is visible. Numerous black cables and a remote control are scattered around the hardware.

Have an Amstrad CPC464, with an "active" scart cable plugged into OSSC, outputting to TV via HDMI. Image is all messed up (the dots scroll down to the bottom of the screen etc) and occasionally the image disappears for a few seconds... No amount of Vsync settings affect the picture. Any thoughts ?
