Those Alien Registration Forms (AR-2s) that solved the mystery of Pope Leo's family? They were behind a paywall at USCIS for decades. Records Not Revenue pushed USCIS to custody to NARA - where they are now available via the hard work done by Center for Electronic Records.

The National Archives added 31,841 A-files to the catalog in March! catalog.archives.gov/id/4488912 Included in this transfer are more than 1,000 individuals born in 1925, as their files have eclipsed the 100 year mark.
