purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 15hKuromi and Super Shadow are neat but having Sega stuff take up both a paid DLC wave and the paid season pass bonus slot is kinda tacky when the Sega stuff has historically been free 040

purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 19hI have the Crossworlds world championship finals on in the background to get the Twitch Drops and when I looked over at it just now some guy clipped through the floor with a Laser Wisp and died and they had to cut to different footage 130
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I was watching a video on my phone and randomly paused it for some reason, and a millisecond later I got a loud email notification that would have interrupted the video if I hadn’t happened to pause it at the exact right moment. you can call that a Perfect Parry! 130
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I joined the new Sonic Discord server several hours ago and it still won’t let me talk in any of the channels I don’t know why I’m asking you guys about this but I was due for a new post on here anyway 070

purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Nintendo's Customer Appreciation Sale just ended. it was mostly a bust for me because most of the games were older stuff that I either already bought or already decided not to buy, but the sale did at least give me an excuse to finally buy Kirby Fighters 2. 030

purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 11/09/2026I tried the new Mario Kart World update! I haven't played the SNES courses yet but the new rallies are solid. I'm not hooked on Knockout Tour yet because I've only been playing it offline to get three stars, but playing it online now that I finally have NSO will probably make the mode feel more fun! 020

purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Direct impressions: Kirby was a very exciting surprise, and it was nice for my prediction of a Wii Fit Plus Free Ride mode in Switch Sports Resort to be correct, but both games take series I love and make them large open worlds, and I don’t feel like that genre returns on my time investment enough. 030
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 09/09/2026I’m expecting to enjoy the Nintendo Direct coming up in several hours, but for whatever reason I’m kinda just in the mood to be pleasantly surprised instead of wanting to predict it. most of my predictions for the previous Direct are still fair game though, so I’ve attached them below. 010

purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 10/08/2026I finished yesterday with Bowser's Galaxy Reactor. it's easy to underestimate Bowser when he's just described verbally, but this level finally lets you see firsthand that he truly has the power to create entire galaxies on a whim. the music is also impressive. I just wish the level was a bit longer. 020
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 10/08/2026I also played Snow Cap Galaxy yesterday. it's fitting that the last level you unlock before the final boss has you chase 3 bunnies like you did at the start of the game. however, Snow Cap is weird for probably being the only puzzle level in the game. also, the pointer gimmicks feel like E3 remnants. 120
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 10/08/2026yesterday's 1st level was Melty Molten. the missions and music are great! I like how the volcanic eruption causes meteors in the next mission. it's also nice that each mission has a different path through the starting area, but this is undermined by the secret star and comet both using star 1's path 120
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 08/08/2026the last level I played today was Matter Splatter Galaxy. this level’s striking visuals even influence the gameplay! my only critique is that the precise platforming exacerbates the issue of Spring Mario being unable to jump if he’s even slightly above the ground. I’m glad Bananza removed that quirk 130
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 08/08/2026I also played Dreadnought Galaxy today. it’s technically a retread of Battlerock, but there’s enough new here that I didn’t mind at all! the missions are all well-made and distinct from each other, aside from a slight overreliance on 2.5D. weirdly, the last planet of star 1 looks like Buoy Base. 130
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 08/08/2026the first level for today was Deep Dark Galaxy. this level doesn’t creep me out as much as it did on the Wii, but the theme of “creepy beach” is still very unique. the missions are all quite strong, with star 2 and the secret star being my favorites. having 3 1-Ups in the starting area is odd though 120
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 07/08/2026the last level I played today was Boo’s Boneyard Galaxy. it’s bizarre to put a Halloween-esque level next to the level most associated with Rosalina’s backstory. why is her mother gone forever while the Spooky Speedster gets to be undead? also, the 2.5D and the spring enemies create a weird vibe. 330
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 07/08/2026I also returned to Gateway Galaxy today. it always surprises me that this level loads instantly after I step through the door. it’s nice to see the place again, but this mission is lame. the way Flying Mario’s spin can attract coins reminds me of how regular Mario’s spin could do that in the E3 demo 230
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 07/08/2026I also played Bowser Jr.’s Lava Reactor today. despite the cool name, it’s barely any longer than Megaleg’s level. I suppose I shouldn’t have expected a full Bowser gauntlet from a Jr. level, but Airship Armada had one. also, King Kaliente again? at least Kingfin is in this dome to pick up the slack 030
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 07/08/2026I played Toy Time Galaxy first today. after Sea Slide, it’s nice to have unique, well-made missions again. I really liked the secret star, but only star 1 is fully toy-themed. star 3 feels like part of Sweet Sweet Galaxy, a theory supported by how Spring Mario would thrive on that level’s conveyors. 120
purple pebblez @recklessrock.bsky.social · 06/08/2026the last level I played today was Bonefin Galaxy. this boss fight has the best in-engine cutscenes in the game, and there’s even proximity-based dynamic music! I wonder if Kingfin was originally supposed to be the boss of a main galaxy, and I wonder if Kingfin’s scars are meant to match Guppy’s scar 130
