Was a huge fan, 0rbit had such a recognizable style - it was all the things I loved in music, slightly ethereal, driven by rhythm, it could be airy & deeply underwater. His whole career felt like an argument for electronic music to be considered with the same respect its analog cousin. What a loss.

Saw his new one last night & I know reactions have been mixed but I thought it was really phenomenal! I caught it at the Alamo & they played a lot of Giallo trailers at the front of it & I think this is his stab (heh heh) at the genre. Definitely Suspriria in the DNA mixed up w Querelle.

Got the A24 Backroomz Zine! Mostly a reprint of 🟡 The Yellow Wallpaper 🟨 which I suppose you could make a case for being a Backroom prequel. TYW is one of those stories, like Rappuccini’s Daughter that feels like a bone English Lit classes throw Weird Tales enthusiasts between classics

M John Harrison picked up the baton & ran w it in his New Weird/Space Opera ‘Empty Space’ trilogy. The Kefahuchi Tract ‘a black hole with no event horizon’ spills ‘rogue physics’ into the universe, in the form of sentient code, unquantifiable tech and, you guessed it, dangerous artifacts.
