I have not gone out today as I did this yesterday, so now I have to wait several days for a replacement.

The rivet link on a motorcycle chain where the faceplate had been pressed too far on one side causing the rubber rings to bulge out. Which means they are ruined, so the link needs to be removed and replaced.

It got busier, it seems everyone in Glamorgan was there. And long queues of traffic still trying to get in whether I left. Other than being too hot, too bright, too loud, and too busy it was genuinely otherwise nice. I will definitely return.

Bank holiday weekend: 1,125 miles Completely stupid and way too hot for it. But my first time in Exmouth, I finally got to Ynys y Barri, and finally a good experience in Leicester. Somehow my biking improved too. Thankfully no more bank holidays for a while, now if only it would cool down too.

Yesterday I read in Leicester, and these geese owned the park. They walked into the pavement and a runner came along and he bravely pushed through. A cyclist behind waited to see if they would move, then turned back. Then a dog went into the water, but not for long, literally chased out.

There is a by-election coming (suspended Green not taking their place), and I voted for Robert Doyle as he does a lot Streatham, but a thank you for being voted a distant third seems odd. This was a LibDem area until the Coalition wipe out, but I do not recall a leaflet from them in the past decade.

A post election leaflet addressed to St. Leonard's from the Liberal Democrats saying "THANK YOU!" as a headline. It is placed in front of a computer screen with the election results showing the party's candidates getting between 726 and 458 votes, behind Labour on 1,084 to 833, and the winning Green candidates with 2,242 to 1,437 votes.

I did visit a sea yesterday, kind-of. It is there beyond the beach and part the mud. The forecast was for some sun, there was pretty much no sun, but a lot of wind making it cold.

The beach between Grand Pier and Knightstone Island in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset on the Seven Estuary. Under a lot of clouds and with the tide out there are not many people on the beach.

The first local council result is called and both Oliver Cromwell and Scarlett O'Hara failed to be elected. (O'Hara was a sitting councillor, with 32% of the vote in 2022.)

A quiet year doe Den Stora Älvandringen with only 42 elk swimming over the river, and many at night, such that it finished earlier than planned. Apparently a warmer winter meant they did not travel so far south to need to return. Importantly though, it will be back again next year!

When I got back to my bike in Happisburgh it looked like this, so thank you the people of Norfolk for not taking the insulin I apparently left on the seat.

A hard pink case sits on the seat of a motorcycle, or is the insulated case I use to carry my insulin when going out. I must have taken it out of the bike but forgot to put it in my bag. A couple hours later it is still there though.

A moment of excitement earlier for the final evening of Trandansen. A lynx turned up at the pond and the cranes made a lot of noise. But after a lot of walking around the lynx went back into the forest, the crane pair went back to their nest, and the swan pair just sat it all out anyway.

A pair of screaming cranes walk amongst the tall yellow grass along the edge of the pond where they have nested (though the nest is out of shot). The lynx stop between them, though a little further back, and watches one of them. Rain drops are falling on the pond.

They are setting up the cameras for Den Stora Älgvandringen and there appears to be a lot less snow than usual still on the ground for its start. Especially with it still over a week from starting, maybe they will be forced to start early again like last year?

Hour long can I sit on a bike before I have to lay it on the ground? The camber means I cannot put the bike on the stand and the puncture means I cannot ride the bike. Recovery estimate is 1 hour. People do not stop when you wave.

No idea why Evri has a bad reputation when it is the sender's fault it damages parcels. The proof of delivery photo even showed the big hole facing outwards! The loss is only US$1.25 for finger splints, 90p or something, so complaining was more about the principle but it cannot even get that right.

Ironically when walking under the pier I lost my glasses. I have to take them off to use my camera and hooked them over my coat. I then had to look through the camera to find them as I cannot see beyond a foot / 30cm without them.

A "NO GLASS BEYOND THIS POINT" sign on the pier. I assumed it means drinking glasses but it just says "GLASS" so maybe they have had problems with glaziers.
