I remember just 2 years ago using the phrase ZOG was taboo enough that when Marxist Lynchist did it people yelled about it for days

Lucian Piane died Monday after being hit by a car. As an old school Drag Race fan I have a lot of complicated feelings about the man, but for now let’s just enjoy this banger:

You know what? Usually I’m like a publication order purist but they’ve never been able to get this far before so Greta Gerwig may as well give the BATMAN BEGINS treatment to THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA.

Huh. Apparently Katie Miller deleted this tweet that I had the foresight to screencap. Turns out I can TOO make things go viral on Xitter, even.

My RT of a Katie Miller tweet which RTed the NYPost coverage of the Ilhan Omar raid.

She said: Promise made, promise kept.
I said: Katie Miller is not going to do very well in a deposition.

My dad is gay and watching gay characters in anime made me feel less isolated about it. Maybe you’d enjoy the show, Mr. Racist.

The book I’m reading has Stolas in it, lol. He’s living at a magical nature preserve and changed his name because he didn’t want the other demon princes bothering him.

Ok quick spoiler thread on SEVEN HAVENS. If Mike says they’re doing black box (yuck) I got some theories.

One reason I really don’t respect anyone who complains that they can’t complain about Star Wars: TLJ or lady Ghostbusters without anyone thinking they’re a bigot is that as an Avatar fan there’s always a grifter off to the side going “WHY SO BROWN AND GAY?” Like … it’s easy to say that guy sucks.

I caught the Seven Havens discourse on X and ooooh it is bad.

I feel a lot of people don't get just how old King really is, just how isolated a part of America he grew up in, and what kind of massive socioeconomic divides were going on. Of course he wrote a lot about dying small towns full of fucking bitter weirdos the world seems it left behind!

I wrote a bunch of Legend of Korra fanfics back in the day, including my only novel-length fanfic ever and another that’s one of my favorite stories I ever wrote … and the one with the most kudos on AO3 is a raretriad threesome PWP that got immediately Jossed.

I watched part of the Avatar Aang movie but I’m having trouble with it because it feels like most of the movie is “WOAHHH WOW AHHH LOOK AT OUR SICK ANIMATION AND MOVES YOU’RE IN A THEATER (you’re not in a theater) YAAAAAAAY!!!!”

Wrote some thoughts on AVATAR: SEVEN HAVENS as someone cynical about the project last night.

130

Rebecca Henloween-Weiss @rebeccahenweiss.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

OK. Initial, low-spoiler thoughts on SEVEN HAVENS. 1) I know the franchise has wanted to incorporate more southeast Asian representation and I’m glad they’re doing that with the new characters and setting … I just wish it didn’t feel like a pretty unique world devolved into generic postapoc Voltron

Rebecca Henloween-Weiss @rebeccahenweiss.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Watching a clip of Janet Varney saying she cried when she watched the first episode of SEVEN HAVENS and wanted people to think well of Korra again did me in.

I’m looking at some of the AVATAR news and I know I’m probably going to begrudgingly watch this at one point but until then … [SPOILERS] 1) Good on them for making an m/m relationship in this franchise and doing it from the jump. 2) Who the fuck cares about Kuruk?
