Guess what I did for Mother's Day weekend? Restored an oyster reef! With other bucket brigade volunteers at a #SinkYourShucks event in St. John's Bay, Goose Island State Park. Local eateries recycle the oyster shells to restore habitat for fish, crabs, shrimp. And oysters for us!

Texas Master Naturalists seed collecting at Williams Prairie on a crisp Friday morning. I had fun harvesting Black-eyed Susan and Silver Bluestem seed pods. This 11-acre remnant prairie is a Coastal Prairie Conservancy preserve with amazing native forb and grass biodiversity.
