Google finally updated some of its satellite images of Gaza and my god, it's horrific. The entirety of Rafah has been demolished. The majority of Khan Younis is in ruins. Entire towns completely leveled and erased of the map.

Cis folks really don't understand what it's like to have who you are made into a political scape goat for 5 years straight with legislation targeting every aspect of your life. And then, the only political party that pretends to care is slowly being pushed to abandon you as a political albatross.

Trump doesn’t force people to do bad things. All he did was show people they could get away with being horrible if they really wanted to, and a lot of powerful people decided they didn’t need to pretend anymore. Especially those in influential positions who could push back but did not.

Rhode Island district judge Mary Mcelroy has quashed the subpoena from the DOJ seeking to access the medical records of trans youth. She enjoined DOJ as well. She calls DOJ "untrustworthy" and DOJ misrepresented and withheld information from the court. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
The image is a legal document titled "Memorandum and Order" from the **United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island**, presided over by Judge Mary S. McElroy.
The text focuses on a case involving an administrative subpoena to **Rhode Island Hospital** (C.A. No. 1:26-mc-0007-MSM-AEM). A significant portion of the second paragraph is highlighted in yellow, which states:
> "DOJ has proven unworthy of this trust at every point in this case. It has misrepresented and withheld information to both this Court and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas (the “Texas court”). It did so in an obvious effort to shield it’s recent investigative tactics—previously rejected by every other court to review them—from this Court’s review, in favor of a distant forum that DOJ deems friendly to its political positions."
>
A footnote at the bottom of the page cites remarks from **Judge Reed O'Connor** regarding "forum shopping" by the Department of Justice.

🚨🚨🚨 DOJ sent a grand jury subpoena from the Northern District of Texas to NYU Langone for all patient records of trans youth. DOJ is engaged in forum and judge shopping in Texas in a blatantly unlawful bid to shut down gender affirming care in blue states. nyulangone.org/public-notic...

A screenshot of a webpage notice from NYU Langone Health titled "Information for NYU Langone Health Patients." The full text of the notice reads:
"On May 7, 2026, NYU Langone Hospitals (“NYULH”) was one of several institutions that received a grand jury subpoena from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Texas. Among other requests, the subpoena directs NYULH to provide information pertaining to patients under the age of 18 who received gender affirming care at NYULH between 2020-2026, as well as the names of NYULH providers and others who were involved in offering such care at NYULH in that timeframe.
Pursuant to the New York State Shield Law, any entity in New York State that receives a request for information regarding legally protected health activity, such as the provision of reproductive health care or gender-affirming care, must make a reasonable attempt to notify the individuals to whom that request pertains at least 30 days before complying with or providing information in response to the request. More information about the Shield Law is available here.
We understand that these developments may be concerning to our patients, providers, and others. Please know that NYU Langone takes the privacy of your protected health information very seriously and we are evaluating our response to the subpoena. We will post updates at this website.
For any questions or concerns please email TYHPsubpoena@nyulangone.org."

Rereading Stone Butch Blues
as change. I didn't regret the decision to take hormones. I wouldn't have survived much longer without passing. And the surgery was a gift to myself, a coming home to my body. But I wanted more than to just barely exist, a stranger always trying not to get involved. I wanted to find out who I was, to define myself. Whoever I was, I wanted to deal with it, I wanted to live it again. I wanted to be able to explain my life, how the world looked from behind my eyes.

Yet I was so afraid to come out and face the world again. I wondered why I had to choose the opening years of the Reagan administration and the rise of the Moral Major-ity to demand the right to be myself. Would they arm villagers with torches and stakes and stalk me through the countryside? Would I stand alone, handcuffed in a precinct cell, with no one to turn to if I survived the nightmare? But then I acknowledged that no matter who had been in the White House, it had always been hard to be me. Between a rock and a hard place-something told me this lifetime wasn't going to get any easier. I'd already been through a lot though, and it didn't seem to me it could get much worse.

Once again I couldn't see the road ahead. I was still steering my own course through uncharted waters, relying on constellations that were not fixed. I wished there was some-one, somewhere I could ask: What should I do? But no such person existed in my world. I was the only expert on living my own life, the only person I could turn to for answers.
