So 24 hours ago I had a day out for four planned with brunch and mimosas and baseball between two teams I don't care about, but it was front row to an MLB game, and you have to go see it. This morning, I made a 600% profit on the tickets, but lost $25 on the brunch reservation cancellation.

Obviously, don't do this if it's a sellout, and don't try and get seats in a closer section. But spacing your own group out so you're not crowded is fine.

My rule is if you're past 25% of the way through the game and the seats near yours aren't claimed, you can spread out and have breathing room in your party. After halfway through the game, if you are showing up for the first time and someone's in your seat, just find somewhere else in the section.

Fun discussion in my group chat: At what point have you given up the seat you paid for at a sporting event? Went to a Rays game a few weeks back and a crowd of six rolled in at the bottom of the 7th inning and forced everyone to rearrange because they demanded their ticketed seats.
