For a second there I thought we had a solution to the mystery coloring of Batman on this ancient whistle, but no, that's still definitely Batman colored as Robin. (But not with bare legs, oddly enough. What was even going on here?)
Blue plastic whistle with a Batman sticker on the side, only Batman is in green trunks and red tights, with a yellow cowl and cape. Close-up of the sticker. The filthy, filthy sticker.

Here’s something you don’t see very often. Tom Palmer is best known as one of the top inkers of the Silver/Bronze ages and beyond. But on this issue he’s the penciller! By the next issue he’d begin inking Gene Colan on this series. Inks here are by Dan Adkins. From Doctor Strange no. 171 (Aug 1968).

Update on the official Alex Toth font. The family and I are going through the revision process on the Regular version, making small adjustments. Here's a look in Fontlab. I've made it a point to keep as many of Toth's "habits" as possible; certain letters overlapping, etc.

Doctor Strange no. 171 (Aug 1968) cover by Dan Adkins. Just picked this up a few weeks ago. I only need a couple more.
Two large hands are sending bolts of magical force into Doc Strange’s body, tormenting him.

Yeah, I saw Woody and Visconti play the whole Man Who Sold The World album with their band Holy Holy. And it was a fantastic show! Glen Gregory from Heaven 17 was the singer, too.

Don Powell does fucking rule. Some great drummers in the Glam Rock era, like Mick Tucker from The Sweet, Woody Woodmansey from the Spiders, Stuart Elliott from Cockney Rebel (and later Kate Bush)… etc etc

I don’t know if it would necessarily be higher maintenance. I guess it depends on the kit, condition of the hardware, and availability of replacement parts.

It only lasted a few issues. But the gist of it was there was someone impersonating him so he started wearing a mask? Didn’t make a lot of sense, but I think it was added to make him more superheroic and boost sales. Didn’t work though, and the title got cancelled.

Doctor Strange no. 183 (Nov 1969) opening splash page by Gene Colan and Tom Palmer. Palmer’s inks and colors really enhance Colan’s pencils. One of the most beautiful titles on the stands back then. Alas, this was the final issue.

Doctor Strange no. 183 (Nov 1969) cover by Gene Colan and Bill Everett. This was the final issue of the series. The story continues in Sub-Mariner 22 and Incredible Hulk 126. And then they all teamed up on a more regular basis in The Defenders.
As Dr. Strange ponders a small winged figure, a larger version of the same creature looms over him.

Hmm. A 20” isn’t as common as a 22”, so I’m not really too familiar with who makes them that size. But if you can find a Yamaha, those are good kits. Really can’t go wrong with any “name” brand. It’s just a matter of tracking down one with the size you’re looking for.

Hey Philly friends! A pal of mines cat got loose in West Philly today (near 42nd and Baltimore Ave). His name is Goblin, and he knows it very well and will come when called. If anyone finds him, please shoot me a DM so we can get him back to his mom. Would really appreciate everyone sharing this!

Doctor Strange no. 182 (Sept 1969) cover by Gene Colan and Tom Palmer. Eternity changes Strange’s name to ‘Sanders.’ Although renamed ‘Stephen Sanders’ at the very end of this issue, this alias won’t last more than two episodes, this one included. Excellent cover featuring the Juggernaut!
