Spent a few minutes near the water after my gym session. About 20 minutes earlier I found out a close relative checked into the hospital. Hoping for the best.

In yee olden days of the early 90s I had this Star Trek 25th anniversary game. konami.fandom.com/wiki/Star_Tr... I can't recall exactly what killed the hardware but eventually it stopped working. Would be so cool if they brought these hardware Konami games to iOS in the modern era.

Feeling good about life. Biked 15 miles today and assembled some flowers (roses are fresh, the other flowers from over the weekend) a few days before our 3rd anniversary.

Two upgrades in one day. The 17P was 92% full, sold my dSLR in 2025, and I was already on an upgrade program.

I worked hard for it but there are some days I look at everything I have now and think wow. Early 2025 I lived in an apartment smaller than my driveway now. 2022 - 2026 I had severe sleep apnea + high bp that I really struggled with (4 different medications + side effects).

Having expensive taste is a blessing and a curse. Like a 24 piece flatware set I bought in 2022 has been great but would like more forks. That'll be $25... Per fork. A whole additional set would be $191 plus tax.

Watching Midnight Cowboy (1969) for the first time. Quite a progressive film for the era. I see why people still talk about it decades later.

I would love to be able to say I don’t think about 9/11 25 years later but I do. Life has changed so much but some things you just can’t forget. I’ve been to NYC twice since 2025 and originally from LI.

Starting to watch Obsession, probably not a smart thing to do right before bed.

I did so much today… 15 miles on bike, mowed front and back lawn, weed whacker, brunch and tea in oaklawn. Tried to help a single friend pick out some gear though he got nothing… Plus I got bf a banana split on the way back home.

When the HVAC tech said $350-600 for just cleaning the outside unit I thought of my older Gen X brethren. Drove to Grainger for the right brush watched a few videos and did what I could myself.

Guess I was in too much of a rush at the gym earlier. Popped the pin in on the butterfly press machine at 165 was on 70. Saw a skinny guy hovering and asked him were you using this machine, he was super apologetic and asked if I minded if he finished his 1 set. I said sure no problem. oops 🙈

I get excited about improvements to a Compound interest calculator. No I'm not normal and completely fine with that. Also playing around with HENRY Wallet which is sort of a swiss army knife for various personal finance calculation needs.

After back and forth since 8/1 the contractor who did my driveway in June repaired slightly larger crack near the corner, looked at some hairline ones and said they were normal. He and one of his workers were at my house all of 15 minutes. Can't expect perfection with a 70s house but do what I can.

First image = how much grad school cost when I attended starting 2005, 2nd image is today. $500 per credit vs $1,310. 162% more and average salary in US is up about 96%. Inflation in the same time is about 71%. In practical terms ~$18k vs ~$47k.

Lounging around didn’t exercise yesterday due to the heat. A bit mind boggling off bp meds I have a 70 bpm resting heart rate. On them was 85-90 and eating a meal or having any alcohol would send me over 100 like clockwork.

The Good - Bonding with friends and celebrating a major milestone that could change the trajectory of their career and life. The Bad - All you can eat even after rationing calories earlier in the day. Too much food, sake, and a margarita make me not want to move much less 💪🚶🏽‍♂️

Decided to not give Apple more money at least not on over ear headphones. I will say they feel slightly cooler on my ears and not nearly as heavy (-33%) as the Pro Max. Got a $130 credit from Best Buy and these were $70 off.
