Saw my stepdad last night for the first time since the pandemic. Not quite estrangement. Long story. I was 190 lbs last time I saw him. I've more than doubled my weight since then. I was actually nervous about it. Amazingly, he said nothing. Very happy reunion.

Telehealth with diabetes doc today. A1c down to 6.9 🎉. Said I was up to 390 lbs, he asked about bariatric surgery. "Not interested at all" like always. He said "What would you have to get to consider it? If you were 470 and couldn't leave the house?" Had to look away; felt myself getting hard.
