oh it's bad comic day? I'll draw something new later but here's this.

A comic titled "Bad Comic: I Love Cal". Features Cal (short haired light skinned person with pupil-less glasses), Me (longer hair light skinned person with glasses that have pupils) and a design-less figure. Panel 1 has me smiling looking at Cal from behind saying "Wow! It's Cal!" with the design-less figure smiling beside me. Panel 2 has me with eyes closed saying "I love cal." Panel 3 has Cal turning and pointing at me, creating an explosion while the design-less figure stares in horror, with the bottom text "He blows me up."

I wrote a #GreatGodGrove fanfic for a friend as my half of an art/fic trade! archiveofourown.org/works/82141316 Summary: After their recruitment rally for their new organization is a success, Hector and Capochin celebrate with some drinks.

Black text on a teal-blue background with an art nouveau inspired border on the upper right corner. Text reads: Hector and Capochin's voices bounced off the narrow walls as they laughed at everything the other said as if it was the funniest joke in the world. Capochin didn't know himself to get pleasantly drunk, but hey, he was having all sorts of new experiences with Hector. To think that almost a year ago, he was sitting on the street, waiting for a flood to wash him away–

Anyway if you wonder why I'm so interested in understanding incomprehensible concepts in fiction it's probably because of the experience of trying to explain the Truth Of The Universe while high on ketamine.

Chapter Five of Belladonna Girl, my current Pokémon Sword and Shield fic, is out! archiveofourown.org/works/608148... – heed the warnings, please.

Title: Chapter Five
Subtitle: The Dose Makes the Poison
Text: Gloria went to the Wild Area before heading to Turffield. Even if she beat Hop with only two pokémon, she figured she should catch a few more. Armed with a fresh supply of pokéballs, she adjusted her bag on her shoulders and started down the stairs from Motostoke.
At the bottom, she heard a click-click of heels on the stairs behind her. She stopped and turned around.
"Gloria," Oleana said, carrying a black briefcase at her side. "I didn't expect you to go this way."

A screenshot of text: Chapter Four: An Act of God.
A faraway siren roused them from sleep.
Godpoke stuck their head out of the sleeping bag, rubbing their eyes and squinting in the dark room. Thespius was sitting up and looking around, too. "What's going on?" he said.
Capochin mumbled something, face-down in a pillow.
"What?"
"Flood siren," he clarified, raising his head. "Doesn't sound close. We're fine"
Thespius looked at the bed next to him. "'Hector went out."
"…no." Capochin's eyes snapped open. "He didn't. No."

Mine + @calypsolemon.bsky.social's #GreatGodGrove fic is out, Starlight Interference! Months after the Rift closes, the Grove gods hear a signal from a god beyond their borders–one in pain. To help this god, Hector volunteers to accompany a small group to where he swore he'd never return: the Drain.

Any Other Name
Gloria closed the door behind her, her bag held against her chest. When Oleana waved to her, she looked up. "Miss Oleana!" she said, running over. "Is something the matter?"
Oleana smiled. Bede didn't know how Gloria could get real smiles out of her, when she had never smiled at him. "Not at all," she said. "The chairman wants to speak to you two, and I have a gift for you."

Oleana's tone sharpened. "Chairman."
"–of course, of course." Rose gestured to Bede and Gloria. "This way, gym challengers, we're just borrowing Kabu's office for a moment…"
As they left, Bede glanced at Leon's face. He wasn't smiling anymore.

Today I finished the pokémon fanfic that I've been working on since I was fifteen years old (possibly younger? This is my best estimate). A mixed canon of Pokémon ORAS and the movie Giratina and the Sky Warrior, I am very happy to have finished it. Read is here: archiveofourown.org/works/499957...

a text block:
Gnosia Stella Coronae
Rebecca is an ordinary young woman–at least as ordinary as any member of the post-incident Team Magma can be–when an attack from Giratina upends her life. While her leaders have to navigate legendary pokémon politics, Rebecca just wants herself and all her friends to make it out alive.
Completed: 32 chapters, 92k words.

This was my fic for the 2024 @pokexchange.bsky.social ! I wrote it for @motherofsephy.bsky.social – the Patel Family Holiday archiveofourown.org/works/61407037

a block of text:

Her eyes widened. "Uncle Rose? I thought he was still in prison!"

"Apparently he's on house arrest, and he convinced his parole officer to let him visit us for the holiday. I think Mom had to convince Dad to agree, too." Nia frowned. "Are you alright, sis? You don't look too good."

Sweat broke out on her forehead. Her uncle was the billionaire CEO of Galar's Macro Cosmos and the former chairman of the Pokémon League, having lost that position when he resurrected a giant apocalypse dragon and caused the second Darkest Day. He had good intentions, he claimed, but Penny still wasn't sure how to feel about him.

More importantly, she had hacked into his company's finances and had been siphoning money from him for months. Did he know?

text:
Chapter Three
Prove Your Worth
"But even the chairman can't stop a gym leader from endorsing anyone, right? Or if the champion did?" Gloria shook her head. "What if something goes wrong, and I go back to Postwick, where I don't even have any friends anymore?"
