Thinking about this deleted post. "How was I supposed to know?" needs to be treated like gun safety. We shouldn't just expect that half the kids will play with guns until they shoot someone and have a learning experience.
Shawn. At fleshpockets BlueSky handle: I don't mean to downplay sexual assault but I also have known a lot of good people who had to learn healthy boundaries by violating someone else's and never forgetting the experience.

Bonus for the web version: This popular storytime rhyme combines a history of representing Black people with monkeys with the gator teasing and snapping motion. It's not just Florida football, but probably your kid's teacher or librarian doing this gator bait callback. We ~could~ stop doing that.

VISIT SUNNY FLORIDA Florida is especially tied to the term, with a number of tourism postcards using the gator bait theme.
Two postcards. One c 1930 to 1945 shows a human-monkey hybrid illustration with no tail but shirt and shorts, being held by the shorts by an alligator while two others approach. Titled "A Darky's Prayer, Florida" and has a poem in negro dialect hoping the gator is a vegetarian. Other is titled "Alligator Bait, Florida" and shows three Black children on a log by the water with an alligator approaching.

Do femme folks in general want other men assuming they should "step in" when they're having conflict with a man in public? Doesn't match up to my experience seeing / interacting with this sort of thing at work. (Have never seen it outside of work.)
Post screenshot: one constant i’ve noticed is when some man is getting in my face in public or whatever, AFTER he goes away, other men in the vicinity will come up to me all concerned like ‘hey you ok? that was messed up.’ oh so you did see it. well cool man thanks for stepping in

I was checking in a series called "I don't want to..." which were all about behavior problems with kids. In this one the kid doesn't want to give people kisses even though this embarrasses her mother. The lesson is that kids SHOULD give kisses to people who want them. It's how you show love. WTF! 🤢
Book cover titled no quiero... Dar besitos. Shows a kid with hands over mouth while adult tries to kiss her

Added my comments in opposition. Deadline today.
I oppose labeling programs with transgender or non-binary content because that's stigmatizing a minority group's existence in programs that do not contain mature levels of sex, violence, or language.
This is tantamount to rating based on "political or religious content" because it's being suggested to serve particular political and religious viewpoints over others.
Transgender and non-binary children would be harmed in particular by labeling depictions of themselves as a content warning for their own age group.
Labeling should remain a politically neutral tool for families, not a line of political attack.

Many storytimes begin or end with singing "Hello Friends" or "Goodbye Friends," often with ASL gestures. This song was written as "Farewell Ladies" in 1847 by E.P. Christy to end Christy's Minstrels blackface shows and included "We'll sing the minstrels' parting lay. So, darkies all now sing away."

I'll be posting it after giving the training locally in a couple of weeks. But, here, have a preview of what I think will be the final slide because it's so fitting. This is the thing I just found out about.
Slide showing the song Farewell Ladies by Edwin Pierce Christy in 1847 became Goodbye Ladies then the storytime favorite (with sign language) of Goodbye Friends. Includes original verse: Now ladies fair to you we'll sing / O Julius give dem bones a fling / We'll sing the minstrel's party lay / so darkies all now sing away...
