Check out our Reactome Research spotlight! A 2026 Nature Genetics study found 13 genetic loci linked to susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2 Omicron infection. Reactome analysis showed these genes are enriched in glycosylation pathways, pointing to host glycan biology as a key factor in viral infectivity

Features from network topology and protein disorder were used to train Random Forest and XGBoost models, generating a Biomarker Probability Score (BPS) and identifying 2,084 candidate biomarkers, including high-confidence proteins such as LCK and ERK1.

The model leveraged Reactome pathways in combination with large language models (LLMs) to provide a mechanistic foundation. It demonstrated strong performance and was applied to predict patient drug responses, with predictions supported by experimental validation.
