I won't say getting here was "cheap" in terms of money, but it also was not enterprise level expensive. Anyone can own and control the network stack starting at the bare Comcast Coax cable itself to the home.

A speed test today, on residential Comcast Coax internet, showing 2.12 Gbps download and 358 Mbps upload. No Comcast owned equipment needed.

We use a synced list between family members, and reuse the list for major recurring supply runs by unchecking repeat items.

A repeatable shopping list in OneNote where we can check off items as we shop, then uncheck them when we take a home inventory for the next grocery run.

Disable automatic installation of companion apps for drivers (you will almost never need them, and if you do, grab them from the MS Store.) (See ALT) arstechnica.com/gadgets/2026...

Navigate to Windows Setting >> System >> About (scroll down a bit to find the link text for) >> Advanced System Settings >> Hardware Tab >> Device Installation settings (button) >> Select NO (and ignore the warning that your device might not work as expected, 99.9% of the time it will be FINE without the bloatware.)

Then back out by clicking Save Changes, then OK, and close out the Settings window.

"The threat is not knowing cases that are actually out there, because we created a climate to which people would not self-report for this. That would be the biggest threat," Hodge said.

It also signals a dangerous "authoritarian" approach from top health officials, Hodge said - despite previous opposition from those leaders to unspecified “lockdowns” from the Covid pandemic.

Our #peonies are getting very close to blooming! This evening the ants are servicing the buds so the flowers will release. (I know that's a myth, but I love the myth so let my ants be in appreciated peace...)
