I don’t even think there’s a team from any sport (at least of the Big 4) that comes anywhere close. Everyone else is fighting for a distant second place in the fan identity nickname battle

100

Credit where credit is due: the concept of “Ballhalla” for the Chase Center and GSV fans is dope as hell and perhaps the best fan/arena identity in all of sports.

120

Interesting lineup choices to have Ant with 4 bench guys and then a LaMelo + Kuminga + Gobert lineup. The difference: basically nothing. Both lineups have been awful to close the first.

I really hope Jaylen Clark can crack the rotation consistently this year. I don’t have particularly high hopes for Beringer, despite the org’s hype around him (not that I know anything). But I think Clark could be a guy that fills holes and surprises non-Wolves fans if things break right for him.

“This just in: the Wolves upcoming road trip has been cancelled. Yes, insiders are telling me the whole team, man 1 thru 15, has the flu. Sources are saying not a single player received the flu vaccine this year after Rudy Gobert allegedly showed the team a text from RFK warning of ‘nanobots’.”

Any argument otherwise demonstrates the exact societal problem of pitifully low (and embarrassing) expectations for boys/men that allowed this situation to exist and harm to occur

000

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

This is exactly the right framing. The right answer to “what should happen to an overly intoxicated girl who finds herself alone at a house with frat boys?” should be “they make sure she gets home safe”. There’s no other acceptable answer.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: DLo is so talented at passing the ball that if he just had a different mindset & understanding of his role, he could have been a top tier PG of his era. But it wasn’t meant to be - and that shit was maddening when he was on your favorite team

I no longer truly count myself as an NFL fan - this is one of the first full Vikings games I’ve watched in a couple seasons - but the Packers are, and will always remain, the only professional sports organization I genuinely dislike deep in my soul and whom I only want bad things to happen to

Like what does Kawhi do if the Clippers just say “nah, we’re not giving you extra stuff like this?” It’s hard for me to imagine he could have found anything close to these extra benefits anywhere else. I’m assuming he couldn’t get them anywhere!

000

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

Haven’t listened to any pods on this yet, but on the LAC/Kawhi thing I’m curious about the question of: what if Ballmer/LAC just said no? That is, were they bidding against anyone who would do this same thing? Not only circumvent the CBA rules, but also spend ostensibly well into 8 figures to do it

100

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

So I think it’s perfectly reasonable for NBA fans to be disappointed in the outcome and say “that’s not enough”. I think the Wolves punishment was precedent for the minimum punishment here. And that’s basically what the Clippers got.

000

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I think the Clippers punishment is mostly fine but I also don’t think it’s debatable that what LAC did is materially worse than the Wolves/Joe Smith situation and I don’t think it’s even close. Paying someone 8 figures beyond their max salary by circumvention is perhaps the worst thing you can do

Murder suspect who was captured at the scene covered in blood: Look I’m innocent. The police are conducting a biased investigation! Very random thought that I had a few years ago and forgot about until right now: The NBA should do Pride Night jerseys like some other sports do. The entire concept of Pride Night jerseys is dope as hell and idk why the NBA doesn’t do it.

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

I think if Finch can find ways to give LaMelo + Kuminga minutes vs bench units the Kuminga signing will be successful and the Wolves will get more production than $6.5M/year. Do I love his fit w the starting 5? Eh, not really. Maybe he proves me wrong! But I like his fit with LaMelo offensively

To be clear, this is not to say that ppl who didn’t cote for him or wouldn’t have voted for Russ for MVP are wrong or that it’s an indefensible position. It’s just to say that I’ve seen a of those people act like his MVP was something of a basketball travesty or a joke, and I think that’s a shame.

110

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

I will miss watching him play basketball and hope our collective memory of him as a player gives him more respect than he’s gotten in his post-MVP years.

000

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

Russell Westbrook at his peak was simply one of my favorite players of all time. While he had his flaws, I think he’s been unfairly maligned as a teammate and the reaction to and memory of his MVP season from “smart” basketball analysts, the media and bball Twitter has been unfair and overly harsh

Haven’t read up on the new Kawhi situation updates but I think it’s funny to think about how all these alleged backroom deals worth tens of millions were made for a player who, 10 yrs ago, ppl loved in part because of his simple & frugal life. “Look! He drives a 97 Tahoe! He lives in a 2bd house!”

How did Seattle get a shot THAT wide open? And you definitely don’t want Johnson shooting that. WOOF close one

020

I fear Olivia Miles has set the PG bar so high I will never be able to truly accept LaMelo Ball.

250

Olivia Miles has been responsible for 10 of the Wolves last 12 points in the last 2 minutes of clutch time in this game (7 points, 1 assist for 3). Just cold blooded

021

And it’s also a stark example of how miserably OKC has failed with their Thunder branding. The Storm’s branding is dope as hell. The Thunder’s branding is easily bottom 3 in the entire NBA

Seattle Storm is simply one of the better team names in all of sports.

This is a terrible look for the league. The investigation can’t possibly warrant this kind of timeline and that it’s impacting free agency/trades almost an entire year after the investigation began, is a disaster. It’s just bad management by Silver and the league office IMO.
