Credit where credit is due: the concept of “Ballhalla” for the Chase Center and GSV fans is dope as hell and perhaps the best fan/arena identity in all of sports.

Interesting lineup choices to have Ant with 4 bench guys and then a LaMelo + Kuminga + Gobert lineup. The difference: basically nothing. Both lineups have been awful to close the first.

I really hope Jaylen Clark can crack the rotation consistently this year. I don’t have particularly high hopes for Beringer, despite the org’s hype around him (not that I know anything). But I think Clark could be a guy that fills holes and surprises non-Wolves fans if things break right for him.

This is exactly the right framing. The right answer to “what should happen to an overly intoxicated girl who finds herself alone at a house with frat boys?” should be “they make sure she gets home safe”. There’s no other acceptable answer.

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: DLo is so talented at passing the ball that if he just had a different mindset & understanding of his role, he could have been a top tier PG of his era. But it wasn’t meant to be - and that shit was maddening when he was on your favorite team

Haven’t listened to any pods on this yet, but on the LAC/Kawhi thing I’m curious about the question of: what if Ballmer/LAC just said no? That is, were they bidding against anyone who would do this same thing? Not only circumvent the CBA rules, but also spend ostensibly well into 8 figures to do it

100

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

I think the Clippers punishment is mostly fine but I also don’t think it’s debatable that what LAC did is materially worse than the Wolves/Joe Smith situation and I don’t think it’s even close. Paying someone 8 figures beyond their max salary by circumvention is perhaps the worst thing you can do

Murder suspect who was captured at the scene covered in blood: Look I’m innocent. The police are conducting a biased investigation! I think if Finch can find ways to give LaMelo + Kuminga minutes vs bench units the Kuminga signing will be successful and the Wolves will get more production than $6.5M/year. Do I love his fit w the starting 5? Eh, not really. Maybe he proves me wrong! But I like his fit with LaMelo offensively

To be clear, this is not to say that ppl who didn’t cote for him or wouldn’t have voted for Russ for MVP are wrong or that it’s an indefensible position. It’s just to say that I’ve seen a of those people act like his MVP was something of a basketball travesty or a joke, and I think that’s a shame.

This is a terrible look for the league. The investigation can’t possibly warrant this kind of timeline and that it’s impacting free agency/trades almost an entire year after the investigation began, is a disaster. It’s just bad management by Silver and the league office IMO.

I’ll give more important thoughts on this trade later, but let me just say: Charlotte is gonna shoot the nets off the goddamn rims with Naz Reid added to their front court. I think he’s a fun fit there (even tho defensively…yikes!)

000

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

As I Wolves fan I am intrigued, but not especially excited about this. LaMelo has his talents. He’s a fun player. Is he a great fit for the Wolves? Is he a ceiling raiser? I kinda think the answer to both of those questions is no. Which begs the question: why should they cash chips in on this?

000

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

I’ll say this as a lifelong Wolves fan: it’s nice to trust your favorite team’s GM! I haven’t always loved the moves (KAT 🥺) but Connelly is aggressive and knows his shit and even if he isn’t always right, he’s rarely ever wrong and things work themselves out. So let’s see what this offseason brings

000

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

It’s such a bummer Donte got injured when he did with that particular injury. Like, let’s say the Wolves didn’t meaningfully replace Julius and they just said “let’s run a run and gun offense, rain fire from 3 with Ant, Naz, Jaden and DDV and let Ayo and TSJ go lightspeed to the rim all the time”.

120

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

Are Bulls fans liking this trade? I mean, to be involved in a trade for which the immediate fan reaction isn’t “what the fuck are we doing?” has to feel good after the previous regime. You did it! Congratulations! You participated in a trade and weren’t the clear loser!

030

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

I will note that Derrick White fits nicely into Minnesota’s new TPE… That being said, I also don’t know why the Wolves think he’s gettable. Maybe he is! I’m a naive loser on my couch; what do I know? But idk why Boston would trade him or how Minnesota could put together the most attractive offer

010

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 23/06/2026

I’m not sure I understand Brooklyn’s side of this Randle trade. They take Randle in a salary dump to just move up 5 spots to the late first round and they also send out a pretty solid player in Claxton. That…doesn’t make sense. Where’s the benefit? How can that be profitable for the Brooklyn Nets?

Some De’Aaron Fox chatter on the TL this morning. Let me add to it: I don’t think his decision to take a layup in the closing seconds of G4 while up 1 was stupid or bad and I think ppl (Spurs fans/NBA fans/media) are taking that one moment and scapegoating him in a way that’s actually pretty unfair

100

RC @rcmoore.bsky.social · 14/06/2026

I didn’t notice this in real time but later realized that the Spurs players didn’t congratulate the Knicks after the game and just walked off. I’m not an unwritten rules guy but that’s sportsmanship 101 and part of playing the game is being gracious in defeat. That’s immature and dumb.

Such a disaster of a series for the Spurs. Blown leads happen. Even huge and historic ones. That’s basketball. To have it happen in every single Knicks win this series on the way to a loss is brutal. And Fox rightfully got a lot of (earned) criticism, but there’s blame to go around top to bottom
