Obsessed with Damascus goats lately. They look like they were created by H. R. Giger. They both looks and sound stupid as hell. An utter catastrophe of an animal. I love them.

When people say that the 2077 Jackie montage should have been playable or that we should have had 30 more hours of paling around with Jackie... No, you don't. You don't want that..Jackie is written as a character you see for just a little bit. If you spend 30+ hours with that guy you'll hate him

If YouTube (and other streaming services) offered an option to block this threatened BBC News channel and thereby dodge this absurd new tax that would be great. Seems like "not being able to detect" is the BBC's problem, not ours.

Paying the TV license is morally on par with paying for a Twitter blue tick at this point. "But it does all this good..." it can still do all that under non-bigoted management, but the government will never take out the trash while you keep voting with your wallet

So either a senior BBC News journalist filed an article today with a load of slurs in it, or, hasn't requested their name be taken off it after they've been added by a bigoted editor. Neither scenario is looking good for me not blocking them everywhere

To be fair to House House, that would be Panic's decision. HH might prefer to remove UGG from the Xbox store but they can't unilaterally do that.

An explanation on why Big Walk isn't available on Xbox. bigwalk.game/xbox
Regarding Xbox

In June 2026 we announced that the release of Big Walk would be limited to computers, Switch 2 and PS5. Since then, we have received many messages and comments, asking about a future Xbox release. We would like to address those questions here:

We have made the decision not to release Big Walk on Xbox, in accordance with the Palestinian-led BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement’s call to boycott Microsoft, and their designation of Microsoft Games (and Xbox) as a priority boycott target. If you need help understanding our motives, we would recommend reading about why Microsoft is a BDS priority target, the successes this kind of pressure has already had on Microsoft, and especially, watching this great introductory piece by People Make Games.

It has always been our intention for Big Walk to be played by groups of friends, and we know that keeping the game off Xbox runs counter to those intentions. This decision means that some people will miss out on playing Big Walk with their friends, and we understand the disappointment we’re causing. We are disappointed too.

We would love for people to be able to play the game on Xbox, but not until Microsoft and/or Xbox have been removed as BDS boycott targets.

We’ve made this decision with the belief that meaningful change can be made in the world, that coordinated collective action can confront even the most powerful interests, and that one day, Palestine will be free.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sincerely,
House House

"A game modifies its difficulty to make you play longer!!" Oh like Resident Evil 4? Like Mario Kart? Who cares? Are the players pawning their possessions to feed their addiction? Being radicalised? Are you the target audience? Why do you care? Because of the dopamine hit of intrigue. That is all

This doesn't inform people, it just makes people with no critical thinking skills confidently claim that "all games do this" before launching into a scintillating anecdote about how once seeing a relevant ad 'proved' to them their phone is eavesdropping on them

Ever since Jason Pargin figured out that "pretending to let people in on a secret that confirms their prejudices that everyone else is either a con artist or a rube, except me, a 20-something guy who reads Cracked dot com" guarantees virality, people have been falling for it over and over

A ton of highly influential games from the 80s and 90s are essentially forgotten now. Designers like Geoff Crammond and Volker Wertich were at least as influential as Jordan Mechner and Will Wright. It's completely arbitrary what IP (and genres) managed to survive market shifts.

1. Ultima has obvious ongoing relevancy in terms of influence on modern CRPG design 2. The phenomena you're noticing is that statistically nobody plays old games ever, and only IP that continue to be exploited in the present are remembered or celebrated

In Halt and Catch Fire there's a scene where they get the brand new game Doom in the office, but the footage shows the medikits have the pill icon rather than the red cross, so it's clearly captured from a later re-release.
