Oh I've been having the same manic episode for years, about your art 🌈

Ricardo Bessa ✏ @rbessaaa.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Oh that was wild. And then you realise, there's a possibility the person accusing wasn't even born when Loish was already the queen of deviantart and that's why they don't know her 😬 because that's how long she's been a huge digital art reference!

It's a so good BUT I have some real issues with the RNG 😤 the biggest critique I remember hearing was that it doesn't respect the players time, and tbh I really see what they mean. Still - really enjoying it

I should revive my little games log, I've played some bangers this year. Currently full-on addicted to BLUE PRINCE (help, it's nearly as frustrating as it is incredible)

Ohhh I can't recommend it enough! And might be a good way of sussing out a place you might want to stay for longer. Happy to share all my learnings 🌈

(I absolutely loved Montreal and would happily live there for a while, felt affordable but then again my standard is London so ymmv. Visas not looking so good for a 37 yo freelance artist tho ahah)

Ricardo Bessa ✏ @rbessaaa.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Yeah London is wild - 3k probably on the higher end (central location?) but most studios in zones 3-4 (best to live imo) will probably be £1.5k-£2K these days. It's just completely unsustainable

The Back Endpaper for ‘The Bone Shard Emperor’ by Andrea Stewart 💙 (4/6) I got to draw a giant Sea Serpent! This was an absolute delight to paint 💛

My back endpaper for The Bone Shard Emperor by Andrea Stewart. SPOILERS. A majestic giant sea serpent caught in and surrounded by a massive cyclone of wind and water. It roars as broken splinters strike its coiling body. At the epicentre of the cyclone is a single small figure, Gio, who is controlling the power of the elements.

still not quite over the fact that i watched 15 year olds get sued for millions of dollars for downloading twelve songs and now we all have to accept AI slop because every tech company in the known universe decided that IP laws don't exist now that they're inconvenient for them

Oh my god that illustration has been out since June last year and not once has "beerholder" occurred to me, THANK YOU

It's official artwork commissioned by D&D, so it's not wrong

Ironically I've been busy today because I'm playing D&D with a bunch of gays, you can't make this up

Photo of character sheet on an ipad, a couple of D20s and a ongoing combat on a grid map

Overwhelmed by all the responses, ty and sorry if I can't reply to everyone! To be clear, this was a knee jerk reaction - I'm not sure yet what can be done bc it's official D&D artwork, maybe it falls under "fair use"?? (As lame as that headline might be) Idk. Rest assured I'll look into it tho

Ricardo Bessa ✏ @rbessaaa.bsky.social · 30/11/2025

I was commissioned by WotC to do it for D&D Pride, so it's official artwork

Tbqh its largely passed me by 🤞 I'm never on twitter, I only realised it was happening from a rogue tag. Other than an email saying I was going to hell (lol) + an uncomfortable situation where someone posted a photo of me to try to decide if I'm cis (?), haven't had much directed at me

"An elf and a demon" is so funny. I guess we're just letting whoever write whatever... Mr. Power, your story is yours to tell 💛

Article image description reads "D&D artwork released for Pride month, depicting an elf and a demon in a romantic embrace" (it's half-elf and a tiefling. Romantic is right though)

Some favourite sketches from a life drawing session with the lovely @davidieuan.bsky.social, from before I left London. Should I start a thread with all my life drawing, or do people prefer separate posts? What's the consensus here? #art #lifedrawing

A 3/4 portrait sketch of a man with a mustache, done with coloured pencil in blues, yellow and pink.

A colour pencil sketch of a nude man on his knees, arms hanging as they touch the floor, in shades of purple and blue

A colour pencil sketch of a nude man, sitting back in a relaxed pose, in shades of pinks and blue

A quick sketch of a man standing with an arm up and over his head, and a leg up propped onto a bed

Guess who's a new Magic Artist!! ✨ Haliya, Guided by Light, for the Magic: The Gathering set 'Edge of Eternities' 🪐 Many thanks to the AD, the lovely Sarah Wassel, for the opportunity and the trust! ©2025 Wizards of the Coast #mtg #mtgEoE

Haliya, Guided by Light, illustrated by Eleonor Piteira for the Magic: The Gathering set 'Edge of Eternities'. A young black woman dressed in light armour with an orange cape and holding a sci-fi-looking axe, stands triumphantly on top of a pile of dead enemies in dark bulky armours. Behind her there's a flat orange planet against a light purple background with stars, while the silhouette of a ship flies by.
