Meanwhile, the attack on the rule of law by Smith and her justice department (the leader (Malcolm Lavoie) was just appointed to the Court of Kings Bench) is so bad a Bencher has resigned. #ableg

This is great writing. Deirdre Mitchell-MacLean nails the Conservative brand/party excellently. I truly hope grievance politics dies soon. Past time for Manning to retire and stay quite. His influence is destructive. womenofabpoli.substack.com/p/the-conser...

The Conservative brand is on life support
One of the oldest brands in Canadian politics is facing its most modern crisis: grievance politics has become its pulse, and governance a departing spirit.

Trans people just want the right to exist safely as their true selves, like everyone else. But they’ve become easy scapegoats for the conservative moment, which vilifies them and threatens to criminalize their very existence. It's straight from the authoritarian playbook. Shameful.

Ah, the UCP government of Alberta continues their march of cruelty and fealty to their nonsecular base with the proposed Bill 18. Such hypocrisy, their disregard for the rights of individuals to determine, with their physician, when they shuffle off this mortal coil. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Question, was there a big whoosh sound, like the sound of a very large toilet flush in Alberta this morning when Trump opined about US oil companies going back into Venezuela and investing billions into their heavy oilsands?

Yesterday in the Alberta Legislature, the UCP Premier stated: "We believe in science on this side of the House..." Surely the Premier misspoke, likely they meant that they believe in pseudoscience. Time and time again the Premier denies scientific evidence and spouts nonsense conspirator theories.
