Full DnD Party commission (half body) for @natural30s.bsky.social 💕 Had such a blast working on the whole gang, thank you so much! comm info: vgen.co/topbanana #geearttag #dnd #ocsky

A cropped line up of the Natural 30s DnD party, consisting of 4 characters.
From the left left is Forest, a masc goliath in adamantite armour, holding a flaming wooden bastard sword on his shoulder.
Second on the left is Trish, a femme lavender dragonborn with wings, in black leather armour and holding a book, turning the page with a knife.
Third is Tinker, a masc Kobold with orange skin and drooling lime green acid, wearing a mish mash of armour, leathers, kitchen and food pieces. He's atop a backpack that's turned into a walking turret.
Fourth is a Gavinelle, a femme Water Genasi with bioluminescent features, pale skin with a dark gradient around her glowing blue eyes. She's wearing light scale armour, casting arcs of lightning while a little bioluminescent coconut octopus hovers by her side.

In contrast I had a mob of two random soldiers kill me SEVEN TIMES in FF9 while escaping Alexandria. How do I keep doing this. Is it spite. Do I just gain incredible resolve when it comes to hard bosses and then lose it all on Guy McDude, Random Enemy No. 258

Bex | Comms on waitlist! @rb-illustration.co.uk · 05/10/2026

Examples so far: - Elden Ring: I went into an Evergaol too early without Blaidd, completed it, and got a weapon I could not use - Grandia: completed the Soldier's Graveyeard too early, missed the really good item at the end - FF9: beat Hades in one try, got an item that was no use to me

I keep doing this thing in games where I go into content that is too high-level for me, complete it, but somehow miss getting the actual reward from that content - and then go on to have an average mob of enemies wipe the floor with me

Look up, and your might just see the glint of metal and dragon scales at high noon ☀️ A really fun art challenge from our Wednesday streams where we aimed to combine Smaugust and Yeehawgust into one piece! Also... a robot. Thank you chat for telling me to draw a robot 🎨 #bexarttag

An illustration of a humanoid robot wearing a cowboy hat, long scarf, billowing shirt, waistcoat, and trousers with chaps and tassels. They're standing on a precipice over a pale green sky, and tipping their hat while smoking a cigarette which is held in a crack in their face visor. Their hair is made of wires, and is a dark blue-green. Behind them, a pale green dragon with kirin-like features floats with a long mane drifting in the air.

Yeah exactly! I've seen people say "don't commission any artist who wasn't posting before 2023" and that's such a big sweeping statement to make

110

Bex | Comms on waitlist! @rb-illustration.co.uk · 02/10/2026

As someone who has also been posting my art online for 20+ years a part of me wishes I'd left some evidence of my earliest online presence in case of AI accusations, but alas Elfwood does not exist any more and I deleted my deviantART. But also - we shouldn't have to feel like we need to do that

I'm so glad that Loish is pointing out to these people that they need to learn to do their own research, beyond just looking at a comment section and basing their opinion on that. There is so much misinformation around now and all it takes is one misguided comment for other people to follow

#WIPSnips September 30th - 'Guard' In which Quil is fuelled by spite. This will happen again #WritingPromps #WriteSky #SunderTheSky

“Your Majesty,” the guards said in unison, performing the Aldellian salute before dropping to their knees. When Quil did not move, torn between fear and spite, the black-haired captain said in a low and icy voice, “Kneel.”
Their body was ice, locked in a self-made stasis; they simply stared into the queen’s eyes, a maelstrom of emotion storming behind their own.
“I said kneel.”
The guard kicked Quil’s knees out from under them and they fell hard to the ground, almost striking their chin on the hard floor with their wrists cuffed behind their back. Swallowing back a curse, they gritted their teeth and bowed their head as the captain resumed his position beside them.

Angel illustration I got to do for @thedungeonarchive.bsky.social ! I love rendering golds and this one was SO much fun to do as a result! We also did an animated token (and the pertinent battlemap for it)! #angel #creaturedesign #art #ttrpg #monster

A digital illustration featuring a biblically accurate angel in a painted style. It is a floating orb with an ornate eye, with two halos with eyes around it, and four golden wings. It is floating in the sky.

I've only joined projects since that were run by people I know or people who've been involved in zines I've been in before. There are others I've applied to (but not got into) where I've checked that they have a record of actually completing previous projects

Bex | Comms on waitlist! @rb-illustration.co.uk · 28/09/2026

Close-up! I've been messing about with adding a tiny bit of chromatic aberration and a little more grain into the final steps of my illustrations lately and I'm really happy with the end result. It's CRISPY

The remaining mods have taken on so much more work than they were originally intending to do, and I applaud them for trying to see the project through to the end. I think we'll all be very relieved to finally see the books in the hands of customers

Bex | Comms on waitlist! @rb-illustration.co.uk · 28/09/2026

A positive update on this: in my poking around trying to figure out what was going on I managed to find someone who could get in touch with the head mod's partner so communication could be re-established with the other mods. If all goes well the zines should be on their way to the shipping mod soon!

The Hanged Man (repost from 2022) Was going through some old art and found this piece I still really like! My tiefling sorcerer Esteem, going through some stuff. Just discovering he'll outlive everyone he knows and see the end of time, NBD 🤷 🎨 #bexarttag #D&D #OCsky

A monochrome image with pops of gold, featuring a tarot-style illustration of my D&D character Esteem, a tiefling sorcerer. He has long dark hair, six horns curling around each other with one crystallised at the front, a long fur-tipped tail, hooves, and a white tunic with dark trousers. He is falling through space, upside-down with his wrists and ankles bound with golden thread. Pieces of blue-tinted glass fall around him, and a piece of metal with the name 'Esteem' engraved into it. His glasses have falling from his face, and he looks fearful. Below him at the words: The Hanged Man.

Digital monochrome sketch of a female miqo'te character from FFXIV, wearing a bard's outfit with a broad hat with a feather in it, and a partly armoured tunic. She has a long fluffy tail and is spinning around laughing and holding onto her hat.
