FYI: One of Tara's cats, Peggy, was diagnosed with inoperable cancer. That diagnosis was expensive. She's now going to be in palliative care for the next few weeks. Tara could use a hand.

Commander Dante and Celestine. Dante isn't finished in this picture, and I'm not sure why I haven't taken one of him since I've called him good. Celestine is my first attempt to freehand some script on the scroll work. I probably should've started with one that was much shorter.

First character from the Armageddon box finished for my Dark Angels army. I figured with the jet pack, he'd be attached to the 2nd company, Ravenwing, but decided the kneepad in the traditional green with normal chapter markings would look nice with the Ravenwing emblem on the shoulder pad.

The hooded head option for Lion el'Jonson gives him more of an air of mystery. Though given what people are saying about his new stat line, it isn't a mystery that he'll be a beast on the tabletop.

I’ve been quiet over the last few days while I process this. My cat has been to the vets and needs expensive treatment. I’m opening up painting comissions to help pay for it. Any help would be amazing, especially sharing

Oh, but it's easy to disable. Just go to Messages, select Settings, see that "something" went wrong, and try again. And again. And again. Then, keep doing that for months on end. It'll work, eventually.

Tangential to the point, the carnivore diet also seems to make anyone on it absolutely miserable, in both their outlook on life and just to be around. At least, that's how it's turned out for the people I've known who tried it.

The weekend following 9/11/01, I met up with a friend at the club she worked at. While there, the bouncers had to boot out a bunch of frat dipshits because they thought a group of Mexican regulars were Middle Eastern/ Muslim and yelled racist slurs and threats of violence at them.

Without saying your age, what is your favorite movie that came out when you were 20 years old. It's hard to say; there were just so many that year. Based on the number of times rewatched, either "In the Mouth of Madness" or "Strange Days," with "Hackers" up there as well.

I think part of the problem is that he knows he's a loser. It's acknowledging it, to himself and others, where it all falls down.

This may be a hot take, but often what makes a story fun or memorable isn't justified by or advances the plot. But, what do I know? I'm just a degenerate goblin.

It's been a bit since I posted Katie's GoFundMe, but I finally scheduled her 6 month post op follow-up, which involves at least a check up and x-rays (not sure about bloodwork), but last time, the visit was close to $1000 with all three. Shares are always appreciated 💜🐾

Reminds me of those conspiracy videos called Things That Make You Go "Hmm" or something like that. What made me go "hmm" was the person talking about all the things that made her go "hmm," but seemingly never thought, "I could probably look that up."

On the upside, the meth dealing neighbors were taken care of. Not because the police did anything; a fire started in the house about a week later, leaving it unlivable. This forced the neighbors to move away.

Jeremy Shaffer @rayrayboxer.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

That was apparently the cue the other deputies needed to start talking about all the dogs they'd killed over their careers. They did so gleefully and in graphic detail. They especially made sure to note that very, very few of these instances had been in any way necessary.

Jeremy Shaffer @rayrayboxer.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

Years ago, a friend was being threatened and harassed by her meth-cooking and -dealing neighbors. After a few months of escalation, she went to the local sheriff's office since she sort of knew one of the deputies who worked there. While talking to him, she mentioned her work in animal rescue.

I'm wasn't terribly interested in Aldari, but I liked the model for Maugan Ra and was looking for something to break up the monotony while painting space marines. Still find it odd I went with green for him instead of black since I was looking to do something different than paint more Dark Angels.

Jeremy Shaffer @rayrayboxer.bsky.social · 20/04/2026

I largely got what I wanted. It's possible the yellow just doesn't work with the maroon on the shoulders, but it's also possible that I just didn't care for the models as much as I thought I would once I got them in my hand.

I went with a white undercoat since I figured that would be better for the cadmium yellow acrylic ink I used for the base coat.

For a minute I was thinking of starting a Leagues of Votann army and wanted to do them in a yellow color scheme. I tried out these minis, but I'm not sure if I just wasn't feeling the League once I got my hands on them or if the color scheme wasn't coming together like I wanted.

I got pretty far in painting these Infernous Marines in my Dark Angels colors, but I just wasn't feeling it. Then I decided they might be a good start for my Blood Angels. They've only just been reprimed, but I'm already way more excited about painting them than I was before.
