Interesting video about understanding code at a time when AI is starting to write most of it. youtu.be/WkBPX-oDMnA PR reviewing is not just about correctness but also about building an understanding of your system. Understanding a system enables participation in its creation.

This is not a joke. This is a screenshot of the actual case management software used by Massachusetts' 11 District Attorneys. Must-read work here by @nasser.wiki nasser.blog/dial-up-just...

I am not joking: this is AOL era software. It's got clip art. IDK how it even works on modern computers

Just stumbled upon rtcamp.com and it feels more professional and honest than many internet companies. I’m not associated with them in any way, or in the web publishing business. Just appreciating some quality work.

Wonderfully written article! Captures what we in tech teams experience in our daily lives. @pydantic.dev fyi, the nav bar keep flickering when you scroll on mobile. That can be a bit jarring at times.

Fascinating website and UX! Love the cool atproto integrations, dynamic theming, and mix of whimsy in the status messages. This is high quality work. Any web company would benefit greatly from having them in their team.

The level of customisability and control that bluesky provides you over your feed is so refreshing, after spending hours trying to appease the YouTube & Instagram algorithms. Love atproto, bluesky, and the efforts of their devs in creating a UX that makes you feel like a free independent human.

Wow. The difference b/w cpu-only inference and gpu powered inference is huge. 100x. Even on a 7 y/o budget gpu. I was hesitant to try it out since it was so old, but glad I did. Grateful for the work people have done to make local llms practical <3

Every once in a while, I come across a song (or part of a song) so good it almost brings me to tears. I’ll add them to this thread.

Refreshing video by Mario Zechner - www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rjfb... I like the extensibility and idea of simplicity of a product. Should try it pi. Been hearing about it otherwise too. Also a supporter of keeping the clankers in check :P

What’s going on with bluesky’s follower counter ? I only see 2 accounts following me but the counter reads 7 🤔

Feels so weird to be hiring for my team, while at the same time, not being able to get interviews for myself with other companies 🥲

Is it just me or does llama.cpp not have any usage documentation? The first google search result is also an imposter website - llama-cpp.com What’s going on 🧐

I was trying to understand mcp better by experimenting on my desktop. Searched for an SQLite mcp server. But there doesn’t seem to be any “official” one or even any popular ones. Is there a better way to discover good & safe mcp servers than auditing the source code myself ? #mcp

Found it interesting that even after all these years, ext4 seems to be the recommendation for new filesystems on Linux desktop. I was researching and expected btrfs or something, but was surprised by the general opinion.

I can’t deal with this 🥲 My team fixed a bug in our app. Then for some reason, added a feature flag for the bugfix and introduced a new bug 😭

Throughout my career, I realize more and more that having good teammates and a good manager is a top priority. You learn so much and your workdays just become happier.

Is there no "bookmark" feature here? Also, do we have a catchy name for posts?

Starter packs are a great feature! Exactly what I was looking for in a social media site. Was able to easily find some interesting folks to follow
