My poem in the form of a zine! I love zines so much... such an easy and accessible way of self-publishing. Second part in replies

The world is knocking
At my door, and in my mind
I turn inward
And feel into my body
I ask what she needs
And I try to water the garden
But it doesn't matter
How well I tend to the flowers
When the sun beats down mercilessly
When the world still turns towards oblivion
How can I calm each individual wave
When the moon is so beyond my reach

I turn to my books, my workshops, my classes
That teach me how to sit in the storm

The world is knocking
And I'm afraid to answer
Because what if on the other side
Lies something far worse than what sits within me now
If I close the blinds and lock the door
Maybe the screams will drown away
For they are no longer deafened by my own
And if I meditate and pray and learn
What it means to be a better human
Maybe I won't have to see who has come knocking
Because through my own detatchment to my self
I no longer care for doors or visitors or unending storms

The world is knocking
Am I brave enough to answer?

Got back into diving today after completing my refresher course.... was so amazing seeing the diverse wildlife just off Rye pier. Smooth rays, blue ringed octopus, seahorses, pufferfish... can't wait to get back into the water!

Had a really nice day at work, hung out with some Blue Banded Bees! Native Australian bees... they are normally quite shy so it was really cool that they let me get so close to take their photos (just iphone shots but have to share bc they are such sweet bees!). #bees #wildlife #bluebandedbees
