Housing, development, and municipal growth already come with enough complexity. Finding reliable planning data shouldn't add to it. That's why we've spent years sourcing, cleaning, and maintaining official datasets from across Canada.

Development review. Community engagement. Growth planning. GIS can support all 3, and you don't need to be a GIS expert to get started. This upcoming webinar explores practical, non-technical ways planning teams can use spatial data to better communicate growth, policy changes, & dev activity.

A floodplain is more than a boundary. A parking maximum is more than a bylaw requirement. A future land use designation is more than a colour on a map. Context is what turns information into better decisions.

Planning is complex. Not because of a lack of data. Information needs to be understood, communicated, and applied by everyone involved in a project. Better technology can help: • Streamline planning processes • Make planning discussions clearer • Simplify complex policies • Strengthen collaboration

Technology can make planning work faster. That doesn't make it better. Data, maps, dashboards, and AI can help surface information, but context and local expertise remain essential for informed decision-making. The goal isn't shortcuts. It's better decisions. #urbanplanning #housing #gis #planning

Good planning starts with good data. Better planning starts when everyone can understand that data. Maps help residents, developers, municipal staff, architects, lawyers, and journalists work from the same information and understand a property's context faster.

Ontario fixed the zoning. The missing middle is still slow to build. The gap: knowing a neighbourhood allows a fourplex isn't knowing this lot does.

Some cities and provinces are doing their best to solve the policy challenge. Execution still has work to do. At 1041 Willowdale Avenue in Toronto, a single detached home is becoming five rental homes through a fourplex and a garden suite.

Canada's condo market has stalled. Missing middle is everyone's go-to fix — but one province mandates upzoning, another leaves it to cities, a third has no framework at all. Even within provinces, the math swings hard parcel to parcel. Full post 👇 www.linkedin.com/feed/update/...
