Totally, totally, kids cut off their parents because of "ordinary conflict." Hey, unrelatedly, here's an email I got from my father 27 years after the last time I saw him.

Dear Evil One -
Just a Happy Halloween Wish! I hope you took the kids out Trick or Treating and they had a great time!
Tomorrow is All Saints Day and Deb and I will be going to Mass at our local church. It struck me on this Halloween Night that the evil of witches and goblins and such is rooted in the very real evil of Satan. Hate and pain are the hallmarks of evil... the hallmarks of Satan. With all the evil and hate you have demonstrated with me, along with all the pain you have caused, it struck me that just as Deb and I will attend Catholic Mas tomorrow... will you be going to a Black Mass to worship Satan?
It was just a question that came up as we pulled "candy duty" with all the Trick or Treaters.
Well, will you be attending a Black Mass?
