Silent Hill 2 was released 25 years go in Japan. It still remains a very formative experience for me, I've painted a few homages over the years. #silenthill #silenthill2 #illustration

Artist! Quote with smoking character!🚬

Sometimes I wonder why I get such little engagement online these days despite all the drawing I've done, but then I remember that I do this to myself and always have. It was less of an issue 15 years ago... the pace of life online is so different now.

A typical TRG sketchbook is usually about 60% girls and ghouls...

We're halfway through prepping new work spaces at the house but I did too much, now I have tendinitis in both arms and no where to do any wet work, its kind of driving me nuts.

Normally these little things would never see the light of day again, but above all else I came online to post about art and I miss doing that.

Somewhere down the line, I got very self conscious about being watched while drawing and its a bit off putting now to sketch in public, even if its just silly doodles. This is why I could never stream, I do not wish to be perceived while working.

I used to always have a little book or scrap of paper in my jacket so I could fill time with random scrawling and sketch little ideas.

These are all quick sketches made with stolen time while I feed the machine.

I'm very excited to play Neffy in Total Warhammer at last, but sorry, I need a day one patch/mod to replace this complete arse looking larp dagger... I would kitbash that thing out of her hands so fast...

I still like this gooey brain sketch.

Almost like it was all bluff from the start, I believe it was the great Samuel Johnson who said of the newly minted USA, and I paraphrase; "Those who bark loudest about freedom are so often the drivers of slaves-"

One from the archives, summer 2016, the evil days are back.

Omnious black pyramid in a city graveyard.

I finally found the box with my dip pens... naturally the inks are somewhere else, I think we gave up on coherent labeling half way through the move... 😩

A box of assorted dip pens and a 90 year old pencil.

Got to see Angels Egg in the cinema today. It was about 16-17 years ago I heard about the film and spent months tracking down a working dvd to watch it on, which was quite a trial at the time. So it was wonderful to see it on the big screen at last. #angelsegg

And the Major Oak has apparently died aswell, a true cultural touchstone and (once) living monument that has stood witness to basically all of English history... This is like the bloodtide of 2016.

010

Rather Drawn @ratherdrawn.bsky.social · 17/06/2026

We had this in the 90's early 00's they called it no-frills, obviously it fell out of favour eventually as the cut price never quite outweighed the stigma of being a "no-frills family"

My spooky little vamps, 2013 & 2025 Finding and sharing art online has been a lifelong pleasure, a source of inspiration and joy. But now real vampires have come along and are trying to suck all the life and vitality from our community of artists... it's heartbreaking honestly.

010

Rather Drawn @ratherdrawn.bsky.social · 22/04/2026

"poorly disposed" in other words, will challenge your world view instead of meekly agreeing. Pathetic. I've been in this game since dial up, I've done my time on the boards, I rarely have the energy to engage rando's in fruitless debate anymore... but this preemptive action is so cowardly.

010

Rather Drawn @ratherdrawn.bsky.social · 22/04/2026

Aha, yeah I also got flagged as a hater, utterly pathetic behaviour honestly.
