I bought a new chawan for matcha. I deliberated on two, and settled for the cheaper one, right now, due to the shipping and tariff fees. It turns out it was the last one as both were limited. Hopefully the other one sticks around long enough for me to buy it another time.

My favorite kinds of plants are aquatic. If I hadn't gone to school for physics, I probably would've went for botany. Now that things have settled down in my life, I think I might just keep and study them as a hobby, documenting them and trying different things.

Why is it that I always experience power outages during the evening and never the daytime? My baked chicken was only 7 minutes in. Also, why does my oven need electricity to work when it’s gas powered and already lit?

I bought a fountain pen and some inks for Kanji practice. It's something to get me through the tedium of repetitious writing. Before I used flash cards which, I think, made me blind to the Kanji. Like, if I see it, I can read it, but can't write it. I think I'll forgo the flashcards this time.

I've decided to relearn/learn Japanese. I've forgotten so much since I don't really use it. I'd like to eventually read the news and older classics. The first step is vocabulary. It'll mostly be memorizing Kanji and common examples. I've tried the Heisig method before, but I didn't care for it.

I guess I'll just go bit by bit until it is done. I remember one summer I watched a TON of anime--like I went down the list of a streaming site alphabetically. I remember calculating all the combined time and it was more than the amount of time i had during summer. I don't know how I did that.

I don't like the way every season is a separate entry. Like, I get the Tenchi timeline is if you gave a spider lsd and waited until it made a web, but I do not want to enter every single of the 5 seasons of "Is it Intentionally wrong to draw out plot to make more money!?" when the seasons connect.

I started a new My Anime List because it's been forever since I made the other one and forgot all of my login info. Imagine starting a new one in the year of our lord twentytwentytwentysix with decades of watched anime baggage and a completionist attitude, ha ha.....ha....haaaa.

Laminar fractal patterns dance like ghosts on the walls as the headlights of passing cars shine through my rain-soaked windows. A car makes a turn. A gradual flood of light exorcises the spirits before fading. The chiaroscuro of my room restores while I sit here. I should probably go do something.

Sometimes I reflect on the things that have happened in my life and think "wow. that was crazy". Not in a bad way, mind you. It's just being at the right place at the right time, I suppose.

Alabaster, through and through. Traced in charcoal and accented in the reddish-pink of shortened breaths. Crowned in the watercolors of fountains, spilling down, with streams of aquas into the purples of the dusk sky. Frozen in time. Just out of reach of the fields of fragrant clover.

Sitting here, the grass smells of snakes. I sketch the sounds a brook makes. While slung, the setting sun half-way in the arms of the earth, retreats from the day.

I feel in 10 years, we can have really rich people on board. It actually shouldn't take that long due to humanity's collective ADHD and short-term memory problems for this to be accomplished.

I bet most of them wouldn't even notice as long as they continue to be able to buy dumb things like private jets. If we start really slow and give them concessions like some tax breaks, then we gaslight mid-level business bros that worry too much about making money.

I say we give the rich as much money as they want...and also their own currency and economy. Then we set up an exchange rate based on their wealth for normal economy interactions. "Oh, you want a loaf of bread? *checks list of names* That'll be 400,000 richie-rich dollars."

I feel if I had a coat-of-arms, it would be a basic-ass shield filled with a solid color of blue raspberry. Underneath a banner with "Semper minimum," in comic sans. The writing on the banner wouldn't have to be centered.

It should also prevent burn-out while freeing up much needed time. It'll save me money, increase a myriad of skills in which I'm deficient, AND decrease stress. "Oh well, I tried. If I need to put in more effort it's not worth it, then".

I don't know if it's midlife crisis or whatever, but i realized something, today--that I have a new life motto and it is: "Always the bare minimum". If I do the bare minimum consistently, the minimum effort will compound into something immaculate.

Do you actually like that game or do you not want to be left out of the hype surrounding it? Will you come back to that game in a couple of years to play it again? Will you be able to? Will you have to buy it again on a new console that was just released in order to do so?

Eventually, content made will be so far removed from actual people that marketing teams will have to build hype machines in order to get people to buy into whatever nonsensical slop the AI creates.

This is not surprising. You can already see the algorithmic autophagy here on bluesky. The discover feed is filled with bots liking bot posts for engagement. I'm here for the "Multiplicity" copy of a copy degradation. AI making content for other AI to like and make content based off of it.

Nice! I know there are some species you are able to own without a permit. I wanted rubber ducky ones but they are one of the species federally regulated. I recommend emailing Pest.Permits@usda.gov and having them green-light your species if you haven't already. They're super helpful.

Worked themself to collapse, they moved out to a cabin in the woods to live the slow life before getting Isekai'd. They always look tired and disheveled and want to be left alone on their own property away from everyone while living life and taking hobby photos of plants. My man has the best setup.

So I've been watching the anime "The Daily Life of a Middle-Aged Shopper In Another World" and realized I completely identify with protag. It starts off with a hyper condensed origin story set to "Also Sprach Zarathustra".

Government official: "...can we have an email we can reach you at?" (Making uncomfortable eye contact the whole time) Me: "ilovegirlsinglasses@someemail.com" (Something to that affect, anyway) Government official, who's female and in glasses: "O-OKAY. W-WELL WE'LL BE SURE TO BE IN TOUCH WITH YOU."

I have a ton of burner email accounts (as one does). I have a specific one based off the anime Lucky Star (I recommend watching the show if you haven't seen it) that I give to people to make the interaction as awkward as possible.

I often have to quickly learn to use items you would need a class on, or at least someone who knows how to use the items tell you what to do, and often times without everything needed. This was me “testing” some glass cleaner. Notice it’s around 230nm—cyan colored.

My job often asks of me: “Does this thing store information” and “Can you retrieve any information it used to store”. These questions were asked today in regard to a spectrophotometer.
A spectrophotometer.

The logon manager is still default sddm or whatever, but I'm sure that isn't a problem to replace. I also have to find out what the hell is going on with the built-in color theme chooser. Honestly though, as long as dark mode works with all of the programs I install, then I don't really care.

I am super surprised. Cachyos + niri + noctalia doesn't completely suck. I still hate every operating system, equally, but hey--I can pair bluetooth earphones, customize the ui without learning a separate programming language, AND not have to install every package based off of my computer specs.

"Stop using hair right now! This new hack saved SECONDS during my morning routine." Why do you have everyday jogging shoes and "jogging" jogging shoes? No, I don't care if you have separate notebooks for brain-storming and journaling--you're just procrastinating work.

I'm tired, it's 4:30am, and yet here I am--listening to the loud-ass birds outside, start their day. "Good morning you deadbeats". They're like those productivity influencers that wake up early to go jogging with separate, complete, jogging attires.

Praise be to the algorithm: some digital, alchemical, formula modelling of human interaction that reduces it to it's fundamental level--that which is devoid of any humanity.

You know what the best thing is to watch on TV these day? Nothing. It's all conglomerated trash. Not a "hot take", i know. It's the same with any type of media. It's what can generate the most revenue. Social, visual, aural--it doesn't matter if it's liked, only if it's put in front of you.

The memory protection argument seems more like a skill issue to me, but whatever. I'll look into Rust a little more and hopefully I'll like it. I mean, it's starting to pop up more so it's probably worth learning. Who knows, maybe I'll end up loving it. I'm willing to give it a chance, at least.

A lot of people seem to like the Rust programming language. I don't really know too much about it, but the syntax looks kinda cumbersome. I also don't like how variables are immutable by default. They're variables. They should vary. It's in the name.

You think it's the massive tech layoffs, being forced to use AI when coding, or the warm milk the corporate sector gives you before they tuck you in and give you a little kiss on the forehead after another bad decision. IT'S ALMOST LIKE SHITTIER CODE IS BEING PRODUCED THESE DAYS, FOR SOME REASON.
