Seems like multiple emus have in fact added support for the new Steam Controller! Playing PCSX2 with it has been a ton of fun, although I wish the extra buttons worked better for pressure modifier macros.

Brother gifted me a Steam controller for my birthday and its sick aside from the fact using it outside of Steam is annoying. I've been doing most of my gaming outside of Steam on emulators and DRM-free stuff nowadays which makes this a paperweight. Maybe there will be a third party converter soon?

There's just way too much to go through if I was going to make this list in general, so I cheated a little and made it about #shmups only! Even then, I had to think quite a bit. But I do think Ikaruga is a game that isn't really enjoyable unless you're a power player.

VITA MEANS LIFE! Got the ol' PSV up and running again, been picking away at some games here and there but damn Soul Sacrifice Delta has become my current fixation. One of those MonHun-adjacent games but with a great amount of heart and character of its own!

More Onimusha 3, kind of insane how stacked the voice cast is for the English audio. Robin Atkin Downes, Paul Mercier, and Jennifer Hale in the main roles. This game just slaps on all fronts. The second game is a bit of a slog but this has been firing on all cylinders.

All the N64 controllers I had when I was a kid already had the issue where the stick wasn't stiff enough (heh) and would wobble around quite a bit. Ergonomics wise, I gotta go with the Saturn's 3D pad being a better feeling controller for me personally.

Started Onimusha 3 last night and surprised how much the visuals hold up. I guess that's what you get when you can make when you only have to worry about one set of hardware. Resolution aside, the 3D environments look pretty sick. Forgot to take some snaps in Paris; that first stretch is awesome.

#shmupsunday anyone? Going through Treasure's Sin and Punishment, a snazzy rail-shooter for the N64. Japanese exclusive, so the first way I experienced this was the Wii virtual console release when I was a kid. Definitely was one of those formative experiences!

Well that's a wrap on Black Mesa. Just a super awesome game all around, with the new Xen being a nice cherry on top. One of the best first person shooters out there, on par with the original and the rest of Valve's catalogue.

All that's left is Xen, which I will finish tomorrow! Black Mesa is such a blast! Definitely one of those rare PC exclusives that everyone should enjoy. Insane to think that this was a free project at first.

More Black Mesa today. I know there's a handful of other Source-based games, the Titanfall series being one of them, but its stuff like BM that captures the engine's strengths. Great interactivity and visuals that aren't taxing on the performance. Here's hoping there's something big for Source 2.

Playing Black Mesa for the first time since Xen was completed. I remember I used to play this a ton when it was still a free Source mod, back when I first started exploring the PC side of gaming. A great example of how dedicated fans can create a project with more heart than bigger studios.
