I don't know, I sort of think Threads is designed that way. Appear good at first, but ultimately have the same issues that any algorithmic feed will. I say that because, for me, it's been engagement-bait front and center from the very beginning, because it's designed to work like Instagram instead.

It's Thursday, which is a great day to start using a password manager and enable 2FA/MFA on all of your accounts! Also, if your accounts ask you to set up a passkey instead, you should!

Like 3 years ago, why is it saying this review was today

Circling the reading date in 2023 and the review date of Sept 30 2026

000

rar 🍌 @rardk64.com · 30/09/2026

I don't know why this reposted, this is like, the first review I ever wrote on Goodreads and before I actually got back into reading proper, so that's weird

Still have a few more projects going up before my last day at IGN this Friday. All of them really special to me. One of them a 44 minute long conversation with legendary artist and director @realgdt.bsky.social. Hope you all enjoy this! I'm really proud of it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgCM...

I hate that I pay for YouTube premium because I can't do without it, I can't stand the ads. But it's absolutely not worth the price.

Mafia: Definitive Edition (2020) - ★★★½ Not bad. The gameplay is pretty standard for the genre, but the 1930s setting is enjoyable. The story was fun too, and that's really what I was here for. backloggd.com/u/rardk64/review/5355… #games

I think there's a pretty big disconnect between the small number of mostly 1st party Nintendo games that detractors think of as classics now, versus the games that were held in high regard and actively being played when the system was actually on shelves.

Yeah, I agree. It's just different forms of inspiration I feel. Also like, you've got a ton of Pokémon clones for example. But a lot of the romhacks you see very much depend on those ideas being with Pokémon, so why shouldn't those exist? And what other ideas could they inspire?

010

rar 🍌 @rardk64.com · 29/09/2026

Like who thought up this collab lmao

010

rar 🍌 @rardk64.com · 29/09/2026

No need to give this drivel attention

120

rar 🍌 @rardk64.com · 29/09/2026

I can accept lacking the creativity to do it all from scratch. I certainly haven't made a game. Plus, some of these genuine romhacks are pretty creative in themselves, bringing people a lot of fun with reused assets. I just can't be bothered by that. Doing it very lazily, though, yeah ew.

rar 🍌 @rardk64.com · 29/09/2026

I've seen this take before and I don't really agree with it. There's an inherent curiosity in diving into someone else's work and figuring out how to modify it. It takes real work and investment. Vibe coding, on the other hand, is just demanding it be done and sitting back.
