Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...
A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is. Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol

Not sure what your main point is here. You deliberately chose a movie for your metaphor where a main character says: "Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should." Should that truly amazing park stay open for the public?

A procedurally generated Islamic geometric tile mosaic: a seamless repeating pattern of interlocking twelve-pointed stars separated by polygonal tiles. The strapwork is drawn as pale ribbons that weave over and under at each crossing, set over glazed compartments in green, ochre and oxblood, in the manner of Nasrid Granada.

Reply-spammer. Though the replies are unintentionally funny at times.
Screenshot of a random BlueSky post that contains a (heavily compressed) preview image of a colorful bar chart ranking different AI video generation tools.

Below it is a reply by the "Boltlab AI" account that says "Clean execution. The color theory here elevates it beyond typical AI output."

(The exactly same phrase appears in replies by the same account to other posts.)

≈ 1 Minute (Teil 1 Eigener Ansatz).

Is 'verifying existence and context' really what we want? No more reading others' texts *before* one writes themselves? I have seen papers that looked like authors gave the LLM an agenda and the LLM added 'suitable' sources for every sentence in the paper. Sloppy verification isn't the real problem.

Having the LLM fantasize an incorrect credits page into existence adds insult to injury. To me, it clearly shows that the author does not actually care about correct attribution - either they just want to be seen as caring or accept any slop the LLM adds. //

Claude and its collaborator Terry simply make Williams vanish. But who cares about authors, right? That's just the first two credits I checked. Why bother giving "credit" at all if it helps neither the original authors nor readers interested in further information?

Example 2: right below, the credit "E. M. Standish (JPL) — Keplerian Elements for Approximate Positions of the Major Planets" links to ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/planets/appr... - a page that mentions that the "content is from an article written by E.M. Standish and J.G. Williams in 1992".

Example 1: Credit "Jean Meeus — Astronomical Algorithms, 2nd ed." links to www.willbell.com/math/mc1.htm - a URL that looks quite old, does not work anymore since 2022, and does not link to the actual book's PDF that is online. I doubt that anyone can find where exactly the code relies on the book.
