"...We are still learning how to deal with this new technology" ...and I don't know, reiterate that you like the piece but have to make sure it's human-made. Something like that? Good luck. I look forward to seeing what others say here.

"...We understand that this query could be taken as offensive and insulting, and we apologize for that. Sadly, one of the outcomes of AI use in writing has made it that even 100% human-made work sometimes gets called into question ...."

If I was still on the fence, I would say something like "hey, a few on our team had the feeling that this piece was written with the help of AI. We thought we'd check with you as our policy [insert AI policy here] ..."

Yeah, that's a hard one. I haven't had the experience, so I don't have a procedure. Maybe I would start by running it through one of those online ai-checkers to begin with?

The Library is devastated to learn of the passing of Dolly Parton, a music legend and titan of children's literacy. Her Imagination Library program has earned multiple Library Literacy Awards and, in 2018, she visited us to donate its 100 millionth book to our collection and host a story time. 🦋❤️

It is tricky to define! Probably best to show them a few and then talk about what makes them different than other writing (or at least different from stories) But yes, as Heather suggested, aligning it with the words of a song is a good way to go.

Eliminating libraries in prisons is a disaster, completely shortsighted. Libraries are a lifeline for incarcerated people who want to learn and grow, and have few other options.
