I was at a flea market yesterday and saw these awesome coffee mugs. I wasn't going to buy them, but my mom and aunt chipped in and bought them for me! They are old Pier One mugs and I love them! They stack!

These native asters are just about the last flowers to bloom in our yard, so I think of them as heralds of autumn. A happy autumnal equinox to everyone! I hope everyone can harvest what they need this fall. Happy spring to the southern hemisphere!

These portobello sliders came out really great! I made a kinda Mexican marinade for them and then roasted them with tomatoes and vegan mozzarella.

My back and hip have been giving me crap for the last 10 days or so. Thought I'd be able to go the gym and run today, but it flared up again so I don't think that's smart. Trying to make the best of it.

Took my Chihuahua Mountain kingsnake Isolde to the vet today. She has a skin tumor that, due to her age and other factors, we have elected to not treat. Given that, she is in excellent shape; the tumor is growing very slowly and not hindering her at all. So that was good news.

Despite it being 90 degrees today, I decided to make chili. Mushrooms, serranos, sweet peppers, two kinds of beans, red wine, onion, garlic, diced tomatoes, and a shit ton of spices. I want to let it simmer but I also want to eat it now! 🤤

Post the best picture you have ever taken of your pet. This pic I took of Aurora, my Brazilian rainbow boa in our yard is one of my favorite pictures I've ever taken. She passed a few years ago at the age of 17. She was so pretty.

Had a great time seeing #ToriAmos with Sue, my cousin and best Tori-buddy. The show was good but honestly not one of our favorites of all the times we've seen her. Still, the company was perfect and the train ride home was an experience (but much better than the ride home Friday).

Along with the tarot exhibit, we checked out the exhibit of Leonora Carrington's sculptures at L'Space Gallery this past Saturday. It was a small showing but really impressive. It's the closest you can come to walking into her dreamlike paintings. I absolutely loved it.

Today was a really great day. I am too full of food and wine to get into details, but we went to an exhibit on the art and history of tarot cards and another exhibit of the sculptures of Leonora Carrington. Then dinner at an awesome vegan restaurant. More pics tomorrow.
