So that's all good, but at the last second, I decided that this will be my Linux PC. I'm still in the "treating it like Windows" stage, but I'm slowly getting accustomed to it. Hopefully I'll have everything I regularly use up and running eventually (or at least have good alternatives)

I had a ~$1000 build planned out last year (now it's ~$1400, thanks AI), but considering most of this build was squared away, I could reallocate my budget towards getting a better GPU than planned. To match the vibe, I got a secondhand RTX 4070. It's a *little* faster than my old GTX 960

Comparison between the GTX 960 and RTX 4070 from PassMark's GPU benchmark site. The GTX 960's average results are substantially lower in every single category (ex. G3D Rating of 6,141 vs the RTX 4070's 26,909).
(Disclaimer: this screenshot is just to illustrate the difference in performance between the two GPUs in a single image. I did a lot more research into various graphics cards before picking the 4070

So long story short, a coworker gave me most of their old PC for free a little while ago. After de-gunking it and getting a power supply, turns out it all still works. It's also significantly better than my decade-old PC- Toaster 3.0, aka the Dual-Core Dingus- so I decided it was time to upgrade

This was tough, but the "make an exactly [##] cm/meters katamari without seeing the measurement" stages are way harder, at least in my experience. It's the one stage in the first game I didn't get the super clear for (I got within 1cm of the target and gave up)
