To be additionally pedantic, I'm pretty sure "discussing ontology" falls squarely within THE POPE'S sphere of expertise...

"if you need more context you aren't allowed to answer" pretty much implies this is a debate specifically directed to people over 45, though.

yeah, i think it depends on what you mean by "more famous" -- the eggs commercial is an indelible image/memory that more easily comes to mind when remembering the time, but for longevity? if I make eggs, I'm not saying "hey look it's my brain on drugs" but i use the 2nd quote pretty regularly!

Starfire?!?
Starfire from DC Comics. She is an orange space lady with an impractically small costume and whose hair is a giant cascade of orange curls that never ends, instead turning into a "contrail" behind her as she flies

what are the documented instances where it has proved unsafe to players? Any at all? no? just vibes? physical ability between the sexes is minimal/nonexistent before puberty, does that mean you will give grade school athletics a pass?

bold of you to assume anyone who buys this currently has trouble finding fridge space. would bet the average fridge this is going into contains two takeout boxes, bottle of ketchup, one (1) mouldering carrot.

"random construction workers" do not qualify in that they are neither super-rich nor high profile, plus Trump is all too happy to reward loyalty by throwing flunkies under the bus after they cease to be useful.
000
Randy Braun @randbot.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
“Had to know ‘it was wrong’” vs “knows they are violating a direct judicial order” are two different scenarios with very different end results for the individual worker in that scenario.

Kennedy Center board votes to close it, as judge again keeps Trump's name off
The board's vote to shutter the historic arts center came amid concerns about financial, structural problems.

They were sued! The Supreme Court just ordered last month that ballroom construction can proceed while the litigation continues. As for investigation, that would be done by Congress, which is currently controlled by Republicans.

Randy Braun @randbot.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Maybe you want to go back and ask Google’s AI what happened after Judge Cooper ordered Trump’s name be taken off the Kennedy Center, and whether it is currently on there?
100
Randy Braun @randbot.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Right, that court order is what is stopping work on the Kennedy center. But your previous argument was “that didn’t stop them with the rose garden/East wing/reflecting pool.” There was no legal injunction in those three instances so it’s a different situation.

Randy Braun @randbot.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
Did WHAT stop those things? None of those examples had a court order barring the work! In the case of the White House he specifically had crews rush the demo before the courts could react

the people at risk here would not be Trump but the actual construction workers, who do not have Presidential immunity and who might not be as excited to go to jail for Dear Leader

yeah, freaking out over the idea that "we have created something that supercedes our own ability" means it is superior to us is so confusing to me? LIke, a SWORD supercedes our own ability to cause physical damage. Are the six simple machines the original proto-pantheon by this measure?

From what I can find*, the NUMBER of food recalls is more or less in line with historical trends. But CASES are way up! so as you said, I think it's a matter of our capacity to get ahead of/stop outbreaks having degraded significantly * pirg.org/edfund/artic... among others

Are we seeing more food recalls these days?
Proof of one problem: 4 weeks after Chipotle pulled jalapeños, the FDA is still announcing new jalapeño recalls. High-profile outbreaks have many wondering whether our food is less safe.

I think it's higher than your number, but importantly *the type of information that can be communicated nonverbally* is pretty limited in scope, and mostly regarding *additional context* - how I feel about my brother moving, how I feel about the person I'm talking to, my internal state, etc.

The most infuriating part of that discussion was that Cottle/French take it as a given that “woke 1.0” had a high human cost, and then French talks about experiencing it personally. I thought we were talking about people losing their livelihood, French, not “woke is when people mad at me online”
