Anyone working on spooky miniatures or terrain for october? If do, what is it going to be? I finished my graveyard walls, and now I’m doing some scatter terrain to match them. Then I plan to work on some harvest time crops; corn, wheat, and pumpkin fields. Then any extra time, spooky minis!

The cemetery walls are finally finished! they are made for the Silver Bayonet, and overall I am really happy with them. Here’s the entrance and back wall centerpiece first of all.

Two terrain pieces with an unpainted miniature for scale between them. The left one is an entrance gate made of two stone brick walls on each side with a large stone overtop covering them. In the middle is a set of iron gates with bronze crosses on them. On the front of each wall is a carved skeleton holding a horn with a small flower bed below them filled with white flowers. The right piece is a stone brick wall with iron fences on either side and stone benches below them. There are also flower beds containing white flowers. In the center of the wall is a large statue of a bust of a woman veiled.

Probably. Also for smaller companies it’s a lot easier and cheaper way than covering the costs for making molds and casting and all that.

Yeah, I’ve had a lot of people work on my plumbing and these two were the worst. And the second time I could tell they didn’t want to be there at all.

As far as minis go, mostly metal and plastic, a couple resin ones here and there. Though all my steel rift stuff I got recently is 3d printed resin. As for building materials, all sorts, but most projects use chipboard for based, foam, packaging cardboard, balsa wood, and sheet styrene.

So here is the wip of back wall to my cemetery wall set. When I was making it, I didn’t take into account the space I would need for the walls that attach. So first picture is the original version, second is after I got done hacking an inch off each side. Hah

A piece of foam terrain. It’s made of pink and white foam and is a pillar on the left and a small wall in the middle. In front of the wall is a statue of a woman’s torso and head covered in a veil. It stands inside a small flower bed and to either side are benches.

The same terrain piece now painted black and also missing the pillar on the left side. The statue is also missing but will be added back later, the pillar is permanently removed though. The tall “metal” fence pieces are also now added to the wall as well. The benches are still in place.

alright, the follow up is they showed up, worked on it for less than 45 minutes, called it done and left. At least I didn’t have to pay, due to warranty, but I get the sneaking suspicion I’ll be in the same boat in another week.

I had yard work, hobby stuff, and other things planned for today, now I will have to wait for them, wait for them to actually fix the problem, and then re-clean my laundry room/house where they tracked stuff again. So there goes my day.

Like I have a long standing issue with roots in some of my sewage line, I know the problem, know roughly how far they need to go, and I also know how long it should take. i have to do this every year, for 15 years now. They disregarded what I said, and now the problem still isn’t fixed, big surprise

Cool cool. Had plumbing issues last week and a plumber came out on Monday to “solve“ the issue. They didn’t listen to what I said, and left a mess in my laundry room after. Today my laundry room once again backed up. So they are coming back out and I am livid.

I have a dragon and their version of a beholder, but I’ve yet to actually assemble or paint them yet. So not sure how smoothly they go together, but the sprues are nice and they seem quite detailed.

Here’s the entrance gate for my cemetery walls that I’m making for the Silver Bayonet! I’m really happy with how it’s coming along. I used the skeletons from a wargames atlantic set, and they will end up being painted like stone.

A terrain piece made of white and pink foam on a piece of chipboard. It is of an entranceway. On either side is a brick pillar with a long stone block over the top. In the center is a black spiked gate made of plastics. On both pillar there is a recess with a skeleton blowing a horn.

Thanks! I really like how it turned out. And the hidden magnets keep the doors closed well enough but are still easy to push apart.

Eventually I want to try trees, but I haven’t really started messing with them yet, and I don’t like the idea of just using sticks from the yard. So I need to research and make test pieces before I dive into them.

I actually did some grave clusters a while back and two larger mausoleums, the ones from my pinned post, so the scatter terrain is just going to be stuff to match the fences. I want to do two flower planters and benches, maybe two big cross statues, and maybe two more small mausoleums.

Yep, recently I painted my first horse, and it was a little rough, but it ended up okay in the end, but I definitely learned stuff along the way. So next time I paint a horse, I’ll be ready!

Thank you very much! As for next, I’m working on the cemetery fences now, then I’m going to do a few bits of scatter terrain for the cemetery, then going to work on crop fields. On the mini side, I have 6 more silver bayonet human units waiting to paint, then will do some spooky ones for October!

Three black painted pieces. Two of them are tall fences with discs attached in the middle of them. The other is a set of two doors for an entranceway.

i did manage to figure it out, at least. Just involved hacking two inches of it on the edges. So now it actually works together pretty well, just need to do a little patching up.

Hmm, so when making the back wall for the cemetery walls I apparently messed up on the design a little on where it would connect to the other walls, so now I need to figure out how I want to tackle the solution, right before I was getting ready to get to the painting stage. So that’s annoying.

Also last night I ordered the second printing of a skirmish game rule book for Bloody Hollow. It seems like a small and niche game. But it’s basically like a skirmish game of Tim Burton‘s version of Sleepy Hollow. And I am super excited to get it. Plus I can use all my Silver Bayonet stuff with it!

Here are some pictures of the fences for my cemetery fence set, made of plastic skewers. I added these double sided plaques on two of the fences for some decorations.

When I would enter models into contests at anime conventions way back, I would bring a box with a couple basic paint colors, tape, a cheap brush, small bottle of paint thinner, a knife, glue, and some sheet styrene pieces. This is after I had an accident at one con and struggled to repair it.
