Bookmakers may be required to recalculate personal income tax on winnings retroactively, starting in 2023.

Moscow. October 2. INTERFAX.RU - The Russian Ministry of Finance is proposing to clarify the procedure for determining the tax base and calculating personal income tax on income from gambling winnings at bookmakers and betting shops, extending the new rules to winnings starting in 2023.

The corresponding changes are included in draft amendments to the Tax Code, submitted to the State Duma as part of the budget package. The document also includes an incentive for bookmakers to expedite payments.

The current version of the regulation on the tax base for winnings assumes that it is determined by the tax agent, which in this case is the bookmaker or betting agency, by reducing the winnings based on the game's results by the bet amount. The tax amount is calculated by the tax agent separately for each winning amount.

Ukrainian Special Forces hitting russian logistics. Why it works: it's not about one truck. It makes highways unusable, breaks plans, and forces russia to pull resources into guarding roads. For Ukraine the strike is almost free. For russia, the defence is very expensive.
