7 years of exploring the ground breakers of one of the scariest, funniest, gut wrenching, vomit inducing, and eyebrow raising genres of cinema. Congratulations.

For my next post exploring my writing through the system Goju Ryu Karate I'm examining the core philosophy of Goju Writing - hard and soft. I'll also explain why I chose this over other systems - this AI produced infographic simplifies my thoughts somewhat. #writingcommunity #amwriting #karate

With news that AI could potentially destroy us all in 10 years everyone understandably points to The Terminator as the apt movie analogy and the one that likely predicted this. Personally I think this one is more appropriate and likely. Don't you think?

Manhunter is 40 years old. Directed & written by Michael Mann (based on Thomas Harris's Red Dragon) it intro'd us to Hannibal Lecter - Brian Cox is utterly cold. A Miami Vice styled thriller with stellar performances, & a killer soundtrack beautifully shot by Dante Spinotti youtu.be/SUVnX6oQRF8?...

Yes just a bit. Cine Persia is a non fiction ebook focusing on contemporary Iranian filmmakers. Stories are quite unique but an interested in this chapter - The Politics of Recognition: Awards, Acclaim & Backlash - and diaspora stories.

If I can finish Cine Persia by the end of October that would be fantastic. My brown belt grading is in 2 months and training continues. If I grade then that's 2 biggies off the list.

This still gives me chills. Máire Brennan's haunting tone with Bono's improvised powerful vocals over a mix of folk and synth pop makes this an eclectic song for the ages capturing the inner struggles we all face through life. It still stirs something in me to this day. youtu.be/KsSsb_bxmMk?...

I'm blogging about how writing is like running a half marathon, the importance of momentum & the challenges that can break it. After 4 years of fighting depression I think I have my momentum back. Last week for the first time I smiled in the middle of a run & again right now drafting this post.

NOW PLAYING AS I WRITE. Yes Ally McBeale made her famous but this is my favourite Vonda Shepherd album. Had the pleasure of seeing her at the Bristol Beacon in 1999 (Colston Hall back then). She's a wondeful blend of pop, rock, and smooth ballads with a powerful yet soothing voice. #writingcommunity

Ignore that voice - get over that hill - walk it or sprint. Pace yourself and if you have to slow down a little that's fine but don't stop. It's harder to keep momentum if you do. Does this help?
