Back in the day we ran Goldeneye splitscreen every time we got together. We loved this game. The boys always put it on License To Kill but I wanted to play normal mode so armor & health pickups did something. My guy was Arctic Commando; he was blue & had a scar on his face, which I found compelling.

This week's Sunday Best is Corporal Hart from Timesplitters, one of my earliest shootbangs. The movement in this game ruled, you could really haul ass. One of them had a level editor, which I made some cool stages in. Shoutout to the two or three transgender single-player levels in story mode. Ayo!

Today's Sunday Best is for a game my friend Adrien introduced to me just this week. It's called The Annual Ghost Town Pumpkin Festival, it's on Itch. You make a Jack-o-Lantern & place it in a little town. The servers are only up in October so it's a special treat. I put my pumpkin in The Cool World.

Went to the state fair and got a simple tabletop baseball game. It's cute, two teams roll a combined 2d6 to see what the outcome of an at-bat is. It came with a plain white 2d6 and that wouldn't do for a baseball game; I checked my bag of infinite novelty dice and found 2d6 to make some real teams.

For our Sunday Best this week I've got my Contra Hard Corps pick, Brad Fang. I was a Genesis kid and we rented this one a lot, and I always, always picked the big dog man with the gun arm. All my friends had Super Nintendos, and there were a lot of games I wish we had, but I was glad to have Brad.

Today's Sunday Best feature is one of my all-time favorite platform fighter characters, Goddess of Explosions from Slap City. I think she's great. Normally when I do a fighting game character on here, I'll draw the alt palette I pick for them; I always pick default G.o.E's. She's perfect how she is.

Here's an early Sunday Best! This week's feature is Jake Badlands driving the BattleTrax from Rock & Roll Racing. There was an upgraded car beyond this one, a hovercraft, but I always liked the look of the flat tread car that I never upgraded past it. I guess I was also picking John Rocknroll, too.

Tonight's Sunday Best feature is Y.V and Rebel from Nuclear Throne. I had a particular way I liked doing runs in this game: I got Golden Shotguns on my two favorite characters & I'd try to go as far as possible using just that gun. Having one gun favored ammo drops & shotguns cooked with Eagle Eyes.

For our Sunday Best post this week I've drawn my Mercenary Kings loadout. In shooting games I tend to like "burst damage" weapons, or weapons that deal a large amount of damage in a few accurate hits rather than sustaining streams of smaller shots over longer time. Here I made a big poison revolver.

This week's Sunday Best has some layers to it. My favorite Soul Calibur character is a guest design from SC4, an automaton named Ashlotte. In SC6 you can pick doll body create-a-soul, so I made my own Ashlotte. Haohmaru Samsho is in that game for some reason, so I gave her his funny moveset. 5AB go!

Got a Sunday Best for you. This one is my Agent from an old game called Blacklight: Retribution. It was a fun shooter that had a god-awful Weapon Rental system. I liked running the katana and a kind friend got me a non-rental one, but then my PCs PSU melted down & I never played again. Sorry, pal :(

This week's Sunday Best is a Monday Best & it features my RAcaseal from Phantasy Star Universe. I had a Playstation 2-to-USB converter I used to plug my nice controller into my PC & played the whole game that way. I researched what the ice shotgun I had was; it's called a Shigga Brada. What a name!

Today's Sunday Best features my character from Way of the Samurai 4 who I named "Yonjuro". I streamed this playthrough for some fighting game pals. Normally when I draw these I'll do some research to be as accurate as possible, but I only had one surviving screenshot of Yonjuro to work from (below).

We have another purple swordsperson for today's Sunday Best, my custom Knight tabard from Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. I played Vanguard on teams, but when I wanted to play free-for-all I ran the Knight. This game had incredible taunts, all goofy, period-appropriate cusses. "YOU are a MAN. of. WAX!"

Today's Sunday Best is my Vira setup from Granblue Fantasy Versus. For a while I found myself picking "woman who is unwell but she has a big sword" in a lot of games & I never looked to deeply into that. Vira is an homosexual dynamo, when I play I just want to send people to "The Yandere Dimension".

It's Sunday Best day and today I've got my Monster Hunter. Me & my friend Isaac would play together, he was on Hunting Horn and I was on Bow, and we'd just go through & stunlock all the monsters on a map. At the end of a run we'd say, "Another Savage Boys Production" like how a Shaw Bros film ends.

For this week's Sunday Best I've drawn my favorite Nightreign character, the Revenant. I loved running Giant's Flame builds, I got a balance of relics that still gave affinity if I couldn't find a flame seal in a run. I dropped O' Flame & ran Flaming Strike on my Rev Claw so I could do K` fireballs.

Happy Sunday! Today I've drawn my palette pick for Rera, from Samurai Shodown V Special. This was one of the first fighting games I tried to really learn in earnest, and I picked Rera because she has a mechanic where she hops on & rides a wolf, and her moveset changes whether she's on or off. Yeah!

Endorsing a video game by noticing it's on track to surpass my current highest total-hours played. If you have a tolerance for Warhammer and you like shootbangs and fighting games, there's nothing else like it. Feels like you're mastering a sword style. Still dangerous even when you're good at it.

Darktide's 1,300 hour playtime next to Team Fortress 2's 2,000 hour playtime.
