Chloe went to the vet today, and as usual I buy her a toy after (vet is in a PetSmart) and when I TRIED a picture, I instead got this absolute gremlin behaviour. Not that I'm actually mad at my beloved girl. I'm glad she's cheered up!

I was gone all morning, so I figured I'd spend some time with Chloe. My broken leg is doing much better, and I think constant care of a young dog has helped it not be the nightmare of 7 months the foot was. Note: Chloe doesn't yet react to the "w-word". I need to work on that.

Fun fact, I'm actually allergic to dogs! This doesn't stop me. I take nightly meds, went through five years of allergy shots, and some antihistamines when it flares up. Shortly after filming, my hand started itching. Chloe is very sad about that because no more scratches.

Chloe often will just poke me with her nose, or occasionally bark, to be like "Dad, it is time for you to stop being on the computer and give me tummy rubs" Which is actually why I've spent a lot less time online since I adopted her.

The picture from the last tweet/Bluesky thingie was taken a couple of days ago. THIS however, was maybe an hour ago. And the first time Chloe really came out of her timid shell at playgroup! She's such a shy and nervous girl, only ever showing "the real Chloe" to me.

I know I've become much more of a reply-guy since Lacie passed, but in April my family adopted a new dog. And I want to show her off, because more than anything, I love dogs. Chloe is very timid, and came from a VERY bad place. But she's my baby. So here she is!

As someone that goes to the movies a decent amount, I don't EVER want the lights to come on and someone just being dead in their seat. Even if they're not near me. Mr. Kojima can probably afford a rent a private movie theatre for when he's about to die, though. I'd prefer him to choose that route.

I have no clue how my parents were able to just "adjust" to no longer having a dog. I'm still planning ways of making sure food is safe from a Lacie that's like 3 years younger than she was now. Even after we had her put to sleep. They're already leaving food unguarded.

Thank you so much, Noble. It's hard on all of us to have to deal with this. We've had a dog before, so we've experienced this pain, but 13 years is a lot of time. A lot has changed in our lives. I don't know when we'll get another dog, but I have a lot of "I could have done better" thoughts.

It's one of the hardest things I've ever done, but tomorrow Lacie is going to be put to sleep. It's been eleven years since we got our sweet woofer. I'm tempted to run back downstairs and take more pictures. I love her so much, it hurts so bad. 16 is old, but not old enough.
