Ruan's ex is...a difficult topic to say the least. He has manipulated and abused him, and when Ruan finally starts regaining his memory he wishes he never did. Sometimes it's easier to forget.

I started out as a gladiator bc sWORD, but I did not understand shit and I was anxious af, so I switched to Dragoon sometine in post ARR and eventually ended up as a Reaper. I did go back to my Paladin at some point and while I do enjoy tanking, the responsibility still lowkey freaks me out.

I believe he'd be proud. he's grown much, become more secure again. He'd be delighted to see he regained at least some of his memories, and maybe tearing up a little when he sees he's finally living his life proudly, he's got a loving partner, and he's not afraid to stand up to his mother about it.

Ruan's mother was very loving when he was younger, but sadly turned out to be quite homophobic as he grew older and was deeply in denial about her son's preference for men. The only other mother figure I could think of would be the lala granny who nursed him back to health.
