I've worked with students who have incredible art skills who don't allow themselves to follow through in pursuing a career (or even just what excites them) in art. It's not always a skill issue. 🧵

Winged sorceress in a flowing white gown and fur mantle strikes a commanding pose against a glowing, clouded sky, dark wings spread, hair streaming, a jeweled circlet on her brow and palms outstretched toward floating orbs of light.

pls help, even if it's just a repost

i hate to ask for help again but my senior cat has been throwing up and straining, clearly constipated again, since this morning (i’d say around 7am, it’s nearly 4:30pm at the time of me writing this). usually she’s able to pass it on her own but she seems to be struggling a lot now and is clearly feeling unwell, curled up in the bathroom and just quiet and lethargic. i don’t have the money to take her to the emergency vet right now, that’ll be several hundred dollars just to walk in the door not including whatever they might need to do (an enema, usually, but sometimes they insist on xrays; if she’s spicy they might want to sedate her). my carecredit is already maxed out due to other health issues she’s had. basically if anyone can help so i can get her checked out sooner rather than later i’d really appreciate it. i’ll put my donation info in the replies.

honestly I think everyone should just email them and tell them this was shitty

email to complaints@stripe.com

This is a really bad look, Stripe.

How it should go is "We are changing the thing and moving you automatically to the new free plan but here's the info about how great our paid services are if you want to upgrade!"

Auto opting people into a new paid thing with what looks essentially like a marketing email is going to cause customers to distrust you. It feels very bad as a small business owner right now and little stuff like this over time will build up ill-will really fast. Offer people something useful for their money and they will support you; auto opt them into something paid and hope they don't notice will not.

I'm glad I happened to read this email so I could opt out but this never should have been done this way at all.
