Bonus photos if you are curious how I brought it back. If you take the top plate off the frame it's carry-on sized! Unfortunately HNL airport checkpoint 3 is only operating 2D X-ray so I had to remove my clothes it was back with and rerun it through security.

Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 19. I am currently on a plane flying back with this Makergear M2 Rev A that has had a 24v, Rambo 1.3 & Dual Extruder Upgrade in its lifetime. I have to imagine it's the last printer I acquire before the event so group photos, booth info is next up.

Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 17 still Hawaii Standard Time. My fourth and final Makerbot Replicator 1 is this single toolhead model I bought for $31. The others are duals so this mixes things up at an inexpensive price. Long term parts donors are also important.

Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 16. Later than usual post it's still only 7pm in Hawaii. This Printrbot Plus is my third of the brand. Like the simple it has a Rev D board. I picked this up in Front Royal Virginia and got it printing recently.

Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 15. The second Printrbot in the collection was this Simple 2014 model. The previous owner changed the line drive to a belt drive. Seems to have a bit of issues with Z binding/wobble. The RevD is a tight squeeze but can run Marlin 2.1.x or Klipper.

Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 14. On my way home from buying a Monoprice Mini Delta the seller informed me he probably should have given me this Solidoodle 2. Weeks later I went back for it. Its currently a project. I've added a 24v heater but it'll be a mess at the show.

Bonus picture. This was it printing back before we changed the extruders. They were difficult to load and he was frustrated. I offered to trade him a Creator Pro for it but it took me awhile to find one so we swapped the Creator Pro extruders in for easy loading first.

Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 11. 8th in my collection and 3rd Replicator is the one I rebuilt for someone I met at 3D Printopia in 24. His desire to use the machine helped me learn to put @marlinfw.org on it. In the end we put FlashForge MK10 toolheads in it with part cooling.

Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 9. The 6th classic in my collection and second Ultimaker is this UMO+. The previous owner was gifted it by Ultimaker at an event. The UMO was a great printer for it's time and the heated bed is a must have upgrade that the UMO+ came with stock.

Countdown to @3dprintopia.bsky.social Day 3. This Ultimaker Original was the first classic in my collection. Its running Klipper with inputshaping at 10k accel on the stock MCU. To make life easier I added a spring steel sheet and with a probe in the second hotend slot.

Y AXIS is mirrored after flashing firmware but can we pretend for a minute the MakerBot Cupcake is printing well? .28 layer height 215 motor pwm at 30 mm/s Stopping the hotend side to side movement may improve this quite a bit. #3dprinting

Breadboarding a replacement for the stepper driver that was blown is probably as close as I will ever come to the type of things people used to do with #reprap. Yeah building printers is cool. But maybe breadboarding an MCU should be a project as well.

The Makerbot Cupcake CNC is running on all axis now after temporarily swapping the driver board for a bread board. Thanks to @peraf191.bsky.social for the suggestions and info. Repair parts are in the mail though. Printing soon. @3dprintopia.bsky.social after that.

Updated photo of the printers you can expect to see at my booth for @3dprintopia.bsky.social They should all be working. Most with Marlin 2.1.3b3+ or Klipper. Mostly limited to the power available. Cupcake shows signs that it will work once I fix the driver I blew up.

Mine was not that long ago. First color swap on my first printer though. Is that a Makergear M2 bed I'm seeing? We just added one to the collection and will be at 3D Printopia. Looks like I may have quite the artifact coming in this week though.

Just submitted a PR to add the pins config it uses for the PT100 amps so that users looking to run Marlin 2.1.3 and later only have to drop in a config and compile

Hey maybe there is a chance the Printrbot printrboard isn't dead?. I got one home out of it before the board stop responding and it seemed to have done a thermal runaway on any other tried. Flashed firmware and it's respond again. Check the mosfet output seeing 40millivolt.

The rebuild on the Prusa i3 Rework (MK0 era Fork) hit a milestone last night. Assembled the Reprap MK2B PCB bed and tested to 100C. The owner plans on loaning it back to me for the @3dprintopia.bsky.social display. Bunch of small stuff left but the 2.85 toolhead is the major work left.

No MMU? No problem. My wife was going to paint these from a solid color print. I grabbed old reliable off my desk from work as it's easy to change filament on quickly. 25 filament changes taking an additional 21 minutes over the original print time estimate.

There are traces of Mightyboard Rev E support and notes about what was needed to be done in 1.1.9 or earlier. I spent a little bit of time referencing the code from 2.x to try and backport some things when someone told me I could fit 2.1.x into 128kb. So we did it to this persons machine.

I tried pressure advance tuning my UMO which also runs things like input shaper. That 700mm Bowden doesn't exactly make for a sane value but I haven't tried Marlin/Linear Advanced yet. The UMO+ is a recent arrival but the UMO has 3 mods. Flex sheet, inductive probe, firmware/pi

I have configs in progress (some finished) for Marlin as well as Klipper for all these machines. Will be publishing as soon as I can. Marlin 2.1 in a replicator brings things like support for SD cards over 2GB, not having to use X3G, etc. Really either path makes these old machines so usable.
