How many years in, and Deerhoof has released a gorgeous album that sounds like they took a lifetime to perfect. Also it's self-released! Also it's @bandcamp.com exclusive and today is the day Bandcamp flows all sales rev to the artists. What a beautiful day. deerhoof.bandcamp.com/album/divine...

If you're still up later tonight 12-1am and the sky is clear (decent chance it will be at least partly clear) you can view the moon turning various shades of red from the eclipse. Halifax details (similar throughout Maritimes): timeanddate.com/eclipse/in/c... #nswx #pewx #nbwx

I feel like it comes from artists I grouped together at some point (or always) in hard to explain/felt ways. A repeat offender here is Spoon and The National. See my point about hard to explain 🤣

Exactly. Let us all clock that immediately and not wait even an instant before smacking it down, all together in unison. The clearest nope ever.

Ya that sensei use is 🤮 Maybe I woke up catastrophizey, but my mind went all the way to will we be able to get legal protections in place so that we can take "jobs" without it being a quick simple stickup.

Remembering to drop in here again, after a stretch of work domination. Last time I brought pretty pictures. This time I bring this from NYT: "Sensay plans to help companies capture the knowledge of departing employees by creating an A.I. version of them that sticks around as a sort of consultant."

As a longtime Raiders fan who shifted allegiance to the partner/inlaw team when they moved to vegas, seeing the Seahawks annihilate the 9ers may have been the most enjoyment I've had watching NFL since Raiders' LA years. Schneider has built something beautiful.

Moving my yearend list to Tidal from Spotify I learned a lot has changed in Bandcamp in the 16 years I've loved it as something different than either itunes (own any track) or Spotify (social). I ended up in both, connect if you are in either, and also here's my list! bandcamp.com/rainerfloo/p...

Here's a link to write a letter actionnetwork.org/letters/turr... and my intro: Whatever's motivating you to push past public interest, consider how a city is shaped. For those with temporary power to override community: are you thinking in binaries, like if we do this we can't do that?

Halifax council outdoing themselves on this. Years of tenacious coalition across the cultural sector to restore the Turret building, and then out of the blue a secret yanking of the rug out from under. Please add your voice to the thousands demanding better. actionnetwork.org/letters/turr...

I’m with the majority of the @ndp.ca caucus who voted against this austerity budget that would have made Stephen Harper smile, a gusher of corporate welfare and weapons spending that does nothing to make the lives of working people more affordable. 🧵 1/3

At this point in Halifax’s years-long crane-fest, I gotta feel grateful for the open space that allows me to see this.
