I've been in a really rough place mentally I can't even lie but I've been playing Super Metroid and it's honestly been helping? I think not only is having a big map to do Tasks in really helpful for my brain, but also your control while moving is the most responsive out of any game I've ever played.

Super Mario Mania has that Super Mario World aesthetic turned to 11, but Sonic the Hedgehog: Wonder has more level variety and playable characters, and the Wonder Ruby makes every revisit a fresh experience.

Ocarina of Time feels so much like a Zelda II that doesn’t assume you have a book next to you/an infinite summer to play it. The way you trade items around. The enemies having distinct attack patterns you have to duck ‘n’ weave between. Rauru’s in both! All this to say, Zelda II? Pretty good game!

As someone who just found out about it from some schmuck on YouTube, the Namcollection fascinates me because you get five PlayStation titles on the PS2; you could play them via backwards compatibility, but then you’d miss out on the PS2’s lack of model and texture warping. That alone makes this rad.

In hindsight, Chowder unabashedly took a lot from its big sibling SpongeBob, but contextualized it with its own flavor, style, and world that you almost feel kind of like an asshole for pointing it out. But, like, I mean it in a good way!

Ocarina of Time makes the bold decision of giving you Knuckles Arrows first. You have to earn Sonic Arrows in Gerudo’s Training Grounds, and Tails rounds you out at the end as a gift from Zelda.
