I saw somebody share a "product" they made where an LLM helps you prompt an LLM and I was SO SURE it was a joke and I even thought it was a good one, but since then whole conversations happened and project updates and! Somehow? It was completely serious!? What is happening to people?

I enjoy helping people with that kind of thing and would be happy to hop on a Discord call or something! (Apologies if that was a rhetorical question)

This is awesome so I cut one out of wood and made a double sided puzzle.

Wooden puzzle of star shape made from 7 pieces

Other side of wooden puzzle with square shape, same 7 pieces, partially assembled

If your regex engine supports negative lookaround this seems to do it, including at begin and end: `(?<!3)30{2}(?!0)` regexr.com/8ojfi

Tried to be more interesting by having you manipulate the already-fallen tiles, but, predictably, controlling the falling one is more fun, so I guess I'm making that game instead #fallingblockjam

my game is currently using sound effects from @kenney.nl 's asset pack (public domain but I did buy the pack on itch). Do I need to swap those out to stay in the spirit of the jam?

Send us your experimental game — we wanna help you show it off! Get a chance to share your project onstage at GDC next spring, and help us inspire more people to make strange and experimental projects that change how we think about games. <3

It didn't take much for us to not get mad at Getting Over It! I mean, we got mad, but in a good way.

For a brief moment I actually thought directing attention to under-appreciated games and their designers was the POINT of OotSS. If someone with less reprehensible politics wanted to work with folks to package niche stuff into something that could get wider notice, that'd be rad as hell

Manwë told me Melkor keeps harrying the Firstborn of Ilúvatar so I asked how many Elves he has and he said he just goes to Middle-Earth and invites more Elves on the Great Journey so I said it sounds like he’s just feeding the Quendi to Morgoth and then Nienna started crying.

Since I saw the board game Tsuro, I think I've been kinda waiting for the right excuse to steal them tiles for something, and now there's a spaghetti-themed jam! I just hope I can find time to finish something despite my weekend having been busy #FallingBlockJam

I know ppl are mad about a perceived drop in quality or w/e but I watched the Avatar Seven Havens trailer with my (19yo) daughter and it went: Her: Wow, they made Korra even hotter. Me: Ok it's not just me.

I don't listen to his music, but I have to admit he must be a good entertainer because it has been VERY funny to watch ES find out his Irish band might not want to stay neutral on genocide

Obv we should be madder at Kraft than Sheeran, but look at the attention it got despite him complying. Can't say it would accomplish nothing at all. Complicity does more harm than risking a music show and that's not failing to consider it's sane priorities

000

Mike Meyer @rainbowheadmike.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

If it'd have enough of an impact for you to consider it a great harm, then it has enough impact to influence people. But, gosh, look at what you are calling "harm". Do you truly think one should not even attempt to take a stance against genocide if it risks inconveniencing the comfortable?

What kinda moral calculus you're doing here, you weirdo? Disappointing fans on one side and supporting cruelty and mass murder being conducted at mind-boggling scale on the other. This ain't a tricky moral conundrum.

Mike Meyer @rainbowheadmike.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

If it's just for fun, it can be as little as the itch page, but it varies wildly. Is it in person? Is it judged? Are there prizes? Do you want the press to notice? Does it need to be moderated? Do you need sponsors? Is it part of a larger event? etc.

I remember how with Google Glass they tried to convince us that not wanting a camera pointed at us was some kinda bigotry and it's heartening to remember how thoroughly they failed.

Oof. I tried writing up a thing to explain some concepts that I think are under-explained in everything I've been able to find on the topic. I showed my spouse a draft, thinking I'd done a passable job, but clearly not. At least five terms in the introduction confused her. She has a PhD.
